I'd like to take it to the next performance / safety level as since the sale of my bike I've been using the M3 for track days...She wants it no more dedicated than it is now...That's where the 996 comes in...great driver when I don't have to detail...great track car on the weekends.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well after finding what i thought to be the car for me and going to look at it and falling in love, the owner and I just couldn't come to an agreement as to what that 99 was really worth so I'm searching for a car once again. I'm in no hurry but if anyone here knows of a nice 6-speed, coupe, factory aero car in Silver, Red or maybe White please let me know. Oh yeah..and it would be nice if the owner wasn't asking 5-7K more than retail value for the car too. Going to look at 2 black aero cars (one 2000 and one 2001) this weekend but I already own a Black A4 and a White M3 and would prefer my third car be a different color...and I think the black hides all of the great lines on the factory aero kit. Thanks in advance to everyone for keeping an eye out for me. Attached are the pictures of the car I fell in love with...too bad we couldn't come to an agreement on price.

POST 2Original post

My car doesn't have the aero kit, but it would be easy enough to get one installed on it. PM me if you might be interested.

POST 4Original post

I know where there is a NIce black 99 with a factory aerokit, car has 35,000 miles and it will sell for a real good price, Only thing for you tho its in Canada

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Paul. Thanks for the offer. I should have put my loaction in when I registered...CA is a long way from Ohio...not to mention it must be the crack of dawn out there right now!!! KILRGT: If I look at these 2 black cars I'm looking at this weekend and decide that I could own this car in black I'll let you konw...as the two I'm looking at are the two extremes as far as condition. One is a 2000 with 60K miles, one is an '01 with only 5000 Miles...so that car you know of could be a happy medium. Please PM me with more details. Andy

POST 6Original post

Personally I would prefer the one with 60K on it. Why? Taken better care of (you would think) and actually driven. A car that has only 1K per year (the 01) is not something I would be comfortable with. Alot of the specualtion as to the RMS issue is that not only is the case slightly out of alignment but the car was not driven (and I mean DRIVEN) to allow the seals to seat properly. A car that accumulates no mileage is not doing the car any good and in many cases can be very detrimental to it.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The 60K mile car has a history of RMS issues...it was replaced under warranty at 42K miles. Once these are repaired should it be of concern again as an ongoing issue? or is the dealer fix something that will fail again? Andy

POST 8Original post

Ouch! Didn't see that coming. Does it have the newest generation seal? They are on the 4th or something like that. Loren commented on it recently over on Renntech.org (do a search there as well).

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No way it has the new seal...RMS was replaced sometime early summer of '04. I'm guessing that this is not a good deal then. Current owner states there's no drops at all...and while I'm not trying to give anyone a bad name...he's a wholesaler so I'm not necessarily inclined to believe everything that he claims without seeing in person myself...problem is it's a 6 hour drive to see that car...but I think that I can buy it at a great price so I'll at least go look at it and make the determination myself. Andy

POST 10Original post

Andy, I work in Columbus. I may know someone that you can call. What is your phone number and I will call you directly.

POST 11Original post

White Aero's look so sweet... SY and White were my two choices, your in a good market find a Factory Aero don't settle, also go for the 2000+. The interiors are SO MUCH better IMHO.

Audi--check Midnight Rider...his is black 6 speed but he has a very nice Aero kit on it and is here in ATL--he is a good guy and there are 2 or 3 shops down here that will do a good PPI....

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Midnight...sorry for no response. I'm really partial to the early aero kit cars...Taco wing and all for some reason really sets the car off in my mind even more than the 02+ Aero II and GT3 aero. Like I said though...my journey to buy is just beginning...could buy tomorrow ...could buy 3 months from now...really havn't made up my mind yet. I'll keep your PM in the event i decide to look for something other than factory aero. Andy

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My current stable.... 2002 M3, Alpine white/ Imola Red interior, factory forged 19's, H&R coilovers, H&R sways, UUC SSK, Active Autowerk exhaust, K&N intake, Eurobahn Superships software, BHS underdrive pullies. 1999 Audi A4, black / black, 19' Sportec Mono 10's (Anthrocite), Bilsteins, Intrax, Neuspeed rear sway, GIAC software, K&N filter, E-code projectors, 5400K Phillips Xenon, Kamei grill, Projektzwo lower front molded to factory bumper, A! side skirts, 130K miles!!! Audi's turned into my truck...I run my part time detailing business out of the car...it's a little cramped but it serves it's purpose. I love the M3.....but my wife and I have come to creative differences with the car as it serves as her daily driver and my weekend toy. I'd like to take it to the next performance / safety level as since the sale of my bike I've been using the M3 for track days...She wants it no more dedicated than it is now...That's where the 996 comes in...great driver when I don't have to detail...great track car on the weekends. I think a silver one would fit right in. Andy

POST 16Original post

Love that M3 but I am so confused how you could have a car that is the wife's DD and your track toy! That is the worst combination.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was valuing the car the same way the bank did...with Edmunds. I was / am really in love with the silver car...but not only was it ~5K above their retail, ~9K above edmunds private party value, but even 1K above Edmunds CPO value with warranty. Even with the Mods I just couldn't see paying that much money for that parciular car. The 60K mile black car that I'd like to look at this weekend is similarly optioned and can be purchased for 12-13K less. (no champion wheels or suspension though). But seeing as though I'm not paying cash for this car I don't want to be in a situation where I'm upside down if I decide to get rid of it a year or two down the road.

POST 18Original post

Come to a meet in the middle if he can budge. Offer him retail (5K less than he is asking). Have a feeling if he is this passionate about the car then it was taken care of like we all would want. If he doesn't budge, move on.

POST 19 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Our price difference was after some negotiation on the silver car. He's not in a position where he's pressed to sell...I think it's his 5th or 6th car and never really driven so he's passively looking to get rid of it...I'm def. not in the drivers seat as far as negotiaton goes with that one. Wifes Daily as my track toy...worked really well for a year...thought I could buy her a new car and keep the M3 as a toy but she won't give it up for the world. 911's been a dream car my entire life...so I'm not exacly bummed to be in a position where she's Ok with me buying one now.

POST 20Original post

Yeah, that's a tough one! When they are not motivated to sell they will try to ask for more than Retail so as to rationalize it........"if I get 10K more than the average seller, then I would part with it"

POST 21Original post

Where's this black one in Canada? I'm interested!

POST 22Original post

Here you go Audi http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6175

POST 23Original post

How much for the silver 911? It looks like he's put lot's of money into it.

POST 24Original post

Andy, Take your time and the right one will come along. I would highly recomend having a PPI performed which you can use to negotiate if miniscule issues are recognized. Again be patient

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$47,000 is where we ended negotiations...granted it's the cleanest 99 I've seen but while it looks like it has lots of Mods when I really got all of the details of the car it does not have much at all. The only thing the owner put on the car were the 19' Champion RG5B wheels. Everything else is the way he bought it down to the suspension. I'm guessing that it's got X73 on it??? it's for sure not aftermarket coilovers that I thought were under there. He wasn't sure, option codes didn't show it but I'm wondering if the dealer installed it. Dealer also installed the PSE on the car before purchase. Everything is exactly how he bought it except for the wheels. I really liked the factory sport seats...nice touch in there. Oh well...I went and looked at the MY 2000, 57K mile black aero car in Chicago this past weekend. Had Aero, paint wasn't bad for a nearly 60K mile car, brand new Toyo T1R's on 18' turbo look wheels. All stock...not the way I'd option the car as I'd really like to see at least the sport seats in that car...but I can buy it for 35K which is a much more reasonable price. esp when it comes to selling the car down the road. Seriously thinking about this car at the moment...suppose I'll need to decide today or tomorrow on it. Even went as far as having a PPI done and there's no signs of leaks from the RMS currently. The RMS was done on this car at 42K miles which makes me weary that the problem might pop back up down the road. Andy

POST 26Original post

I also am looking for a 99-00 coupe aero not omportant I'm on price ... must be under 30k Thanks Len [email removed]

POST 27Original post

This car in Not advertised for sale, its a friend of mine car , and he is pretty sure he will sell the car.If you guys are serious, PM me and I will forward the info on to him. Its a pretty clean car

POST 28Original post

an02boxster......good luck getting an 00 (or even a 99) for under 30K that won't have a past that will end up costing you dearly! Audi......as nice as the silver one was and even if he bit on $47K which is WAY high, it would bother me (maybe even concern me) that he didn't know what suspension he had! Unbelieivable. FYI...X73 is for 02+ wide body cars. If he had any suspension upgrade done then it would be either US or RoWM030 over the stock setting. If he ordered that way new the sticker would show it (USM030 only). If he was the only owner then he SHOULD now what he added specifically after the fact (wheels, suspension, etc.) even if his memory is going he should have papers. Anyway, good luck on your search.......as most will tell you here, BE PATIENT and you will find exactly what you want and price you want.

POST 29Original post

47K for a 99 C2? how about this 02 for 45K? http://www.carauctionhelper.com/~wor...982S621895.htm and you put any aero kit you want? keep looking. the seller doesn't want to sell the car. it will take a while, but u will find what u want, at the price u like.

POST 30Original post

Maybe a wrecked 911 aero for less than $30k! Give me a break. DOLT. I'd say the true value depending on what it had was probably around $40k-$42k guessing. You get what you pay for, good luck with your search. Don't settle for anything, it will come.

POST 31Original post
