Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I may be able to pick a center console lid and shift boot from a boxster to replace my current scratched parts. I cannot confirm that they will fit a 99 996. Does anyone know if the 99 boxster console lid and shift boot will fit my 99 996? Many parts from the boxster are compatible with the 996 but I want to confirm before purchasing. Thanks

POST 2Original post

I'm 99.9% sure that they interchange. The rear center console, lid, shifter, and ****/boot should be the same. Actually pretty much the entire dash is identical.

POST 3Original post

Yes they do, just make sure you don't get the 5spd shift ****.

Then 6th gear will be like a secret!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming. I didn't even consider the 5spd shift ****. That would be funny.
