Race was great, weather was great I had great time in the Brumos suite highly recommend everyone attend.

Seriously watch that early morning stint with Renee running away from the 59 & 67 with sub-49 laps.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Brumos finished 3rd.
Great win for Porsche, as the GT storyline was all about new entries from Ferrari, Audi and Chevrolet (Camaro). Porsche seemed like an afterthought with a new version of a very old car to bridge the gap to the new 991-based GT3RS. But in endurance racing new cars tend to fail. Porsche may struggle in coming, shorter races. But for now, 1-2-3, baby!
Race was great, weather was great I had great time in the Brumos suite highly recommend everyone attend.
What I took away was that for the most part the Porsche's just kept on running. The Ferrari's and others seemed to en up in the pits or garage way more than the Porsche's.
Basically the Porsches stopped for gas, tires and driver changes as needed.
Brumos did well the entire race. Lead the GT class a lot of the time. Hurley drove his last stint ever around 9:30 Saturday night. Leading the GT Class at 23 hours to go, but had to make a pit stop for gas that cost them the first two spots.
Brumos Tower Suite was the place to be once the race started. Tickets were worth every penny. Included a free two-lap ride in a 991 on an autocross course just behind the tower. Drivers were instructors from the Porsche Performance Driving School. I enjoyed two really hot laps in a Racing Yellow 991, piloted by the most aggressive driver of the three - I think her name was Leah (Lee-ah).
I was the engineer on the 4 car, and when it suffered a motor failure at 3am, I ended up helping with strategy on the 44. What an incredible group. Team owner John Potter, management Shannon Davis, engineer Lars Giersing, Crew Chief John Bidell and team mother hen Lorie Bidell are among the most positive, encouraging, kind people in the paddock - and they are at the TOP of their game.
And who can say enough about Andy, Renee and Richard? These guys set the pace, period. Seriously watch that early morning stint with Renee running away from the 59 & 67 with sub-49 laps. He is the fastest GT3 driver I've ever worked with - yet he's ALWAYS smiling; as honest and genuine as they come. Renee completely embarrasses some top-level drivers who walk around with attitudes and ego to fuel their "persona." You get the feeling this guy would have as much fun playing with my 14-month old as he did in victory lane.
Finally, what a group the 4 car was. Working for the Children's Tumor Foundation was so rewarding - having somewhere around 100 family members and kids there, so excited to be a part, was uplifting. We had the best crew in the business - championship winning crew chief Tucker Merten, data guy Steven Taft, Matt & Abell from Flying Lizard, our fueler Wayne and tire guy Steven (the only Trinidadian I've ever met in the paddock - we need more.) Plus serious pro-driver spotters in Mikel Miller and Zach Lutz, Marcos from HPD as my strategy assistant, Jill Beck from Children's Tumor Foundation... and pro drivers like Justin Bell and Grand AM Champ Ryan Eversley. Our gentlemen drivers, Daniel Graff & Ron Yarab are heavily involved in the foundation and really were a pleasure to work with. Gotta again give credit to Magnus to assemble such an amazing team on relatively short notice; it made my job easy. And then there's my right-hand man in this - Apex Speed Technology engineer Tim Whitteridge - the guy's a top level mechanic, MOTEC guy & is learning to be a tuner. Can't say enough about him. A starter and idler pulley was out downfall this time, but I'm hoping we'll be back.
The competition was great. The 59 Brumos guys are a class act; I worked with Leh Keen early in his career at Synergy and can't say enough about how nice a guy he is. The 67 TRG is after all my old team; I did the last 3 24's with them and think the world of Spencer, another Synergy veteran.
Thanks to all the fans and supporters for making this such a big event. From all the fans and activity, its clear to see that sportscar racing in the US is alive and growing!

This year's Rolex24 was the best ever. As a former PCA Florida Crown Region member, I was rooting for the Brumos #59 guys...Lee, Andrew, Marc, and Hurley are a quality act. (Too bad that extra fuel stop cost them the GT class win.)
However as a current PCA Ohio Valley Region member, I was also pulling for the Flying Lizard/Wright Motorsports team. John Wright and his race engineers are "the" team to watch in the future.
Again...the Rolex24...be there next year!

In case you aren't into the details, there was a certain amount of pressure for him to drive once more for a couple reasons: 1) driving in this years Rolex 24 would mean an even 40 years as a starter at this event, and 2) the fact that it was the 50th running of the event and many other former winners were participating.
Hurley has not driven in competition since last years Rolex 24. He was pretty clear in his interview late Saturday night that this one stint was nothing more than a cameo appearance and that his competition days were over.
I was beside the Brumos car in victory lane after the race last Sunday and overheard someone ask Hurley if he would be back in the driver's seat next year and he said something to the effect of "it's tough to give it up". So I wouldn't be too surprised to see him drive next year if he feels he would be an asset to the team. He also mentioned that he will be the Grand Marshal for the race next year.
BTW, it was a great race and a great effort by the Porsche GT cars. I just wish Porsche had competed in the Prototype class. I'm already looking forward to next years race!!!
