Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Recently when locking the doors with the key fob, the horns beeps. I know that means either the doors, rear lid or front lid are not closed tight. Checked all doors and lids. The front lid didn't look right so I opened it and closed it. The lid would not latch. I thought the locking mechanism was gunked up so I sprayed liberally WD40 on it thinking that it was locked up. That did not fix it. There is a spring in there that looked out of place. played with it a little but couldn't figure it out. Any thoughts on the workings of the damn thing.

POST 2Original post

I don't know if it helps but, mine would release when I would hit a bump at low speed. It turned out that the button was hanging up. I don't know if yours is an electric release or not, maybe the cable's hanging up if it not a power release.

POST 3Original post

I would bet that your problem is that the end of the spring slipped out of the hole that keeps it in place, which can cause problems with the latching. You can take it apart and push it back into place, but chances are that it will keep happening until you replace it.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That what I was thinking too. The spring looks out of place. Calling OK Foreign this morning looking for a used part. Looks I will have to get the bumper off to get access.
