it would be easy to weld a section into the stock muffler and use the stock switch and it would be a stock and clean solution.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So PSE sounds pretty cool. And an option I would consider retro fitting. The switch etc parts are reasonable enough, but the cost is in the mufflers and actuators. My question is, are the actuators available as a separate part? If so... it would be easy to weld a section into the stock muffler and use the stock switch and it would be a stock and clean solution. Anyone done this or know if the actuators are available? Cheers!

POST 2Original post

Do you really need to turn off the improved sound?

POST 3Original post

Agreed. Just get Fister sport mufflers and enjoy!

POST 4Original post

Fabspeed sells a PSE like switched muffler cheaper than OEM but don't know how they sound.

POST 5Original post

The switchable PSE provide the best of both worlds. You get the louder , throaty sound when you want it and the quieter mode when appropriate. I really enjoy the ability to switch to quiet when I want that. I have a friend that has the Fabspeed switchable system, but I have not heard it. The cost of the PSE has become ridiculous if you have to source it new from Porsche.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes its not always desirable to have a louder exhaust... the fabspeed system comes with its own fob, hoping to use stock parts.

POST 7Original post

My PSE is always "loud" and I find that you get used to it. If you don't want to wake the neighbors keep the car under 4000 RPM and it's relatively quiet.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So anyone know if the actuators can be purchased as a part or does it come with the whole muffler?
