Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I have an '01 C4 and my ket heads work fine, but look old as heck. Does anyone know if I can just get the plastic casing for the key heads? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Yes you can. There's a cool upgraded version available too - I think it's the Porsche Sport Design key. Check Suncoast Parts.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I check Suncoast, they are only selling the button side of the key head... and idea where I could get the other half?

Looks like a complete head to me... check here... https://www.suncoastparts.com/category/996keys.html

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I saw that, but I do not need the electronics, just the plastic casing. They sell the button half, but not the opposite side.

Look at this one....... http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...y_Code=996keys 911 Design Key Conversion As an alternative to the standard keyhead, a "Design" key housing is now available. By simply transferring your old key blade, circuit board, and transponder chip, you can upgrade to this new design. No reprogramming is necessary, it is a direct swap of the internal parts. The Design key is only available for keys with two-buttons (central locking system and front trunk lid), and features a flashing "911" in red. This will fit a 2001-2004.5 Carrera 996 (except Targa). Also fits Boxster models with a one or two button remote (1997-2000). Installation is simple, view our Installation Guide. NOTE: This keyhead is empty, you must transfer your current key "guts" to this keyhead. This is a shell only, no electronic internals are included.
