Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I was interested at first when I thought it was about knocking off the wife a few times while you cleaned the windshield.

I have knocked it off (plastic housing) a few times when cleaning the wind shield.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The wife pointed this out to me. I never knew it was there. I have knocked it off (plastic housing) a few times when cleaning the wind shield.
The little light that is behind the rear view mirror. It appears to have two settings low and high. I cannot turn it off either. What is the purpose of the light? It is not bright enough for anything. I am guessing it is to light up the radio / climate control but it still looks like it wont do a good job at that. I do not recall reading anything about that light.
Copper
I dont have a clue, but is it possible its for auto dimming mirror or headlights?
I dont remember anything about the mirrors but thought I would babble all over your thread for no reason
If it is
behind
the mirror toward the front (windshield) it could not be used as a censor for rear view mirror dimming. The light from the car coming behind would not hit it.
Any other ideas?
I read the manual. I still dont know. Attached is a picture from the manual. I placed arrows to show where I am talking about. The manual does not show where the rain sensor is located.
It does not look like this form sun coast.
Rain Sensor
Thanks again
I believe this is the "cup sensor" light; when you've only pulled out one cup holder and you need a second, this "light" alerts you as to the presence of the second, then promptly calls you names in German for bringing a scalding hot, staining liquid into your otherwise perfect automotive feat of engineering.
