Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I spend a good few hours getting the 996 on the new lift and doing some work. The the fronts of the PSS9's in and cleaned up some broken stuff from the PO. I also decided that with the new wheels on the way the orange is going bye bye. So I took off the mirrors and the the paint in the tail is bad so they will both be repainted to match the car. The PO glued the mirror switch on, that was tons of fun..... Oh and the PO also installed a set of 3.4 mufflers which is a bummer because I was going to do the stage II mod on them so if any one has a set. I have a set of sway bars on the way and hope to have it wrapped in two weeks to do some light track work. Also going to change all the filter and oil while I am in there. GOD i love having a lift...

POST 2Original post

Who is going to do your corner balance? Man, I need a lift.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys, Its been a lot of hard work getting the garage dialed (6+ months) in but it is going to be worth it. Now I can pretty much do everything at home. The only down side is my friends (and now their friends) know about it... I will do the corner balance myself at work or if my boss is in a good mood I might bring the scales home...doubt it...

POST 6Original post

How do you work on the right side of the car? Doesn't look like I could fit between the tire and the wall.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is a little tight to the wall but I can get a tire off and on without issue. If I could get more I would have but I wasn't about to go cutting into the house.

POST 9Original post

Very nice Scott! I adjusted my PSS9s from full stiff to full soft yesterday. Planning to take the car to Montreal F1 next week with the Wife if she approves the ride comfort factor... How do you remove the mirror covers?

POST 10Original post

"Oh and the PO also installed a set of 3.4 mufflers which is a bummer because I was going to do the stage II mod on them so if any one has a set. " FisterD now does the exact same mod on 3.4 and 3.6 cans. (no more stage I and stage II mods). He should be able to tell you if there is a sound difference between the two. I'm guessing that there isn't because the mod enhances the sound by making some of the exhaust gases bypass the muffler (input to output). You have a very nice set up by the way!

POST 12Original post

That is such a nice lift, enables you to be able to do so much more while enjoying complete access to your Porsche.

POST 14Original post

LOL with the work shop manuals... It was really easy. Pop the mirror out and there are 3 t-15 (or whatever the smallest torx i have) screws and it pops right off. The photo don't do a good job showing the space between the car and the wall. I can stand with my back to the wall and take a wheel off. Its not a ton of room but it works. I have enough room I can walk under the car (and I am 6'5") so that is much more important than tons of room on the side.
