As well, the electronic oil check on the dash seems schizophrenic, at one moment it's full full, then 1/4 full, then half...checked the dip stick after driving it home (15mins) and it's in the middle.

Hey Guys, so just did my first oil change myself with some help and since then the pressure seems to act a little weird to me. when i first start up the car and for driving the first 5mins the pressure remains at 5 regardless of RPM, of course it does drop in neutral at the lights to about 2-3. after 10mins of driving the pressure wont' stay above 4 unless the revs stay above 3K. this wasn't happening when i first got the car. actually it sounds normal...just watch it and if something look really unusual stop and find the problem.
I assume the filter was not an issue and you got it on right and you checked the fluid level per manual (I forget what the manual says....cold right? the 3.2 you check hot and running so I am a little lost)
Normal. Just keep an eye on the level, if you have a dipstick - trust that over the whizbang electronic gizmo.
Should never drop below about 1 bar idle on a really hot day, car HOT.

I used castrol syn 5w40 at least 8L-9L. looks like the previous owner was using amsoil (sp?). the engine sure is a lot quieter since the oil change.

Just like mine with Total Quartz 9000 - 5W40. it sits at 3.8 to 4.0 bar at 2800 rpm on highway depending on ambient temperature and idles at 1.5 bar (it will occaisionally drop to 1 bar or slightly below when very hot).
