I ran some calculations and came up with an aggressive 25mm (or so) offset, for the rears and 50mm for the fronts.
Leading evidence: 'Run some calculations and came up' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fitment' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I may just have to pull off my wheel and stick it on, to check fitment.

That may work, as the centers are painted and the lips are polished...I would just need to replace the rim section, to a correct one.

Could the offsets be changed with different wheel drums?

But, people have ran 15mm spacers on them that would bring the offset to 25mm.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need some help determining the offset of some 18" wheels. There are no stampings indicating width/offset, anywhere to be found.
REARS:
Wheel width is 11". I actually measured 11.5" from outer lips, but wheels have tires mounted on them, so I subtracted 1/4" (each side), as I was told the width is measured from the inner mounting surface. Also, the tires are 295/30. The backspace measured from mounting surface to inner lip is 6 5/8".
FRONTS:
Wheel width is 9". I actually measured 9.5" from outer lips, again I subtracted 1/4" (each side). Also, the tires are 235/40. The backspace measured from mounting surface to inner lip is 6 1/2".
I ran some calculations and came up with an aggressive 25mm (or so) offset, for the rears and 50mm for the fronts. Is this correct?
I was told the wheels were off a 911, but that's all. Trying to see if they'll fit a 996 C4S. Thanks!
pics of the wheel mounted would help us... Stock offset for a c4s is 45mm. But, people have ran 15mm spacers on them that would bring the offset to 25mm. But yes, they are aggressive.
Don't have pics of them mounted...trying to determine if they would indeed fit. Also, I added the info for the fronts. I guess I could could go ahead and have them mounted and find out for sure, but didn't want to go through that, if they're the incorrect size.
They are iFORGED modular wheels. Could the offsets be changed with different wheel drums? Is that an expensive option? Can anyone do that work?
I had Iforged monacos, they seem to know their offsets and they are very aggressive... are they 19's? Here is mine on a NB. Mine did not past the fenders.
spacers deduct offset, not add. That's why when you have a low offset than required, spacers will just make them even more negative offset. The only way to make a low offset correct for your vehicle is to try and machine some of the hub pad on the wheel thinner to push it farther from the center point of the wheel.
If you have a 30mm offset, and put a 30mm spacer, your offset would be zero because the mounting point would be at 0mm offset from the center.
Yeah, exactly.....that's why I was asking redridge, if folks added a 15mm spacer to a 45mm offset rear wheel, wouldn't that cause the rear wheel to stick out past the fender? Has anyone done this? If my calculations/measurements are right, that's the roughly where I'd be (25mm offset).
I may just have to pull off my wheel and stick it on, to check fitment. I think the fronts will be alright. It's the rears that seem too aggressive, even for a widebody. Perhaps these were off another model Porsche, and not a 911, as stated?
Can anyone rebuild multi-piece wheels to the correct offset? Or do they have to go to iForged for a rebuild? That may work, as the centers are painted and the lips are polished...I would just need to replace the rim section, to a correct one.
Better offset tool link
I know you dont have the offset info, but this tool helps understand the relationships and is interactive, plus compares -
dont forget to scroll down as there is a bunch of data that describes the differances in your comparison.
Thanks for the links, guys. The hardest part is that the wheels have tires mounted on them, so getting this exact measurements is tough. I do know the lip on these is about 3/4" wider than my current 19" Champions. That may acount for the offset being around 25mm vs 45mm, as I was hoping. Even on my current wheels, I'm unsure of the offsets, as they were on the car when I bought it. I assume it's close to the 45mm, like stock. It may be a bit lower, as the rim is 11.5", on those. They (Champions) sit nice and flush with the fenders and I'd like to recreate that look with these, if I have them rebuilt. Is Porsche the only ones that stamp the info on their wheels? I don't see the specs for the Champions (on my car) stamped anywhere, either?
Looks like I'll have to pull out the jack and start swapping some wheels, to see if these will work!!!
Sorry for responding late.... from what I said earlier, I forged seem to know their offsets for the 996s' pretty good and are usually aggressive (but wont go passed the fenders). However, the tires you mount on them will make a big difference... (if it will rub or not)..... but Medtech confirms that 25mm should be good to go... Medtech, what size tires are you running?
