Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I installed the cupholder mod in the top bin but was wondering whether it is possible to move the radio to the top bin and move the cupholders to the second bin.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I installed the cupholder mod in the top bin but was wondering whether it is possible to move the radio to the top bin and move the cupholders to the second bin. They aren't that durable unless you get the perfect size coffee mug, and at times things spill. Pic included

POST 2Original post

WTG ! OK, I am going to be a little mean here - sorry- SO, not only do you have a cassette holder, but you actually have a cassette in one of the slots? - Ditch that thing and get a shelf, the cassette is too dated (IMO) The pedals look good, did you do those too? Never seen those 2 rouond buttons (switches) below the HVAC control, what are those?

POST 3Original post

My set up is the same as yours, but with the shelf in place of the cassette tray. The problem with putting anything in a slot directly above the cup holders is that you can't access it if you have cups in the cup holders. Also, if you have the center vents on they will heat or cool your cup, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on what's in the cup and what's coming out of the vent. I tend not to drink in the 996 as its a very involving car to drive. OTOH, the cup holders can be useful for holding other things, blackberry, phone, garage door opener, etc. I tend to use them more for things like that than cups. So I do appreciate Porsche making the effort with the cup holders.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yea, the cassette holder does look 80ish. I was hoping nobody noticed. Thanks Ivangene, you just help me find my Duran Duran. Been looking for it for years and years and............... Yea I did the pedals. As for as the two buttons, when I purchased the car it came with it. I guess the previous owner had some mod, your guess is good as mine on that one. One thing I do know is that they do absolutely nothing now.

POST 5Original post

have you been following the "things you didnt know" thread? on post #53 is a ot of fun to monkey around with on your HVAC control - car looks great!

POST 6Original post

I got a Ultimate cup holder from http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ And it works great. There is no danger of spilling.

awe.... yea.... Story time: I picked up my morning coffee at my mother-in-laws house one day, jumped in the truck and took off... turned the corner out of the drive and somehow crossed my hands up. When the steering came back around, my driving hand hit my coffee hand and tossed the entire contents in the air..... there was coffee EVERYWHERE! - and the worst part is I had not even taken a sip of it yet! NO DANGER you say.... HA - he dont know me very well !
