Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do I get the plastic cover off of the targa top glass sunscreen motor? There is something rolling around in there, like a nut or a jelly bean...who knows what it is, but it's annoying and obviously shouldn't be there. Before I start pulling that plastic cover off, I want to be sure it just snaps off.

POST 2Original post

It just pops off, they way I got mine off was to open the hatch and sit in the back seat. It's got metal clips that pop into the top.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. Can't wait to see what could possibly be in there. Sounds like a marble rolling around.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Out of town on biz...996 is at the airport. Then out of town this weekend, so next week I'll see what the heck is in there. Maybe it's a solid gold nugget.

Do these clips run down the center of the long plastic piece that covers the sunshade roller? I pulled pretty hard and the plastic was flexing, but would not pop off. I didn't want to pull any harder for fear of snapping that piece. Did you use any tools?

POST 7Original post

I didn't use any tools on mine. My cover was able to flex a little, and I was able to get my fingers under it and pull down on it as close to the center as I could get. If your unsure I can post some pics for you so you'll know where the clips are located. Unfortunatly I'm on the road right now,and wont be able to upload till thurs afternoon.

Thanks for offering. That would be helpful. I'll try it once more tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thank you very much! These gave me the confidence to pull it. One of the screws backed out. All fixed now.
