If it doesn't come off cleanly, you can use the razor blade at a horizontal angle to peel off the rest of it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

25 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

About a month ago I recently purchased my first Porsche, a 2002 996. I can't even explain the joy I get from driving this machine. I smile just by starting the motor! My dad was really the one that got me started from his long addiction of Porsches (Owning a 914, 911SC, 964, and his current '00 996). Rennlist has been a tremendous help I must say. The information I have been receiving from this site has been very helpful, and goes to show I have a lot to learn! My first Porsche meet was a big one, as I recently attended the Porsche Parade 2011. I did not register my car, but I did park it in the Corral on Monday, which was good enough for me. Here's a picture of the car at the Parade, as well as others I took in Miami a few days after I bought it. I recently took the tint off the car that the previous owner had put on, as you can see from the Parade picture. It just looks cleaner without it!

If you don't mind my asking, how did you remove the window tint? I bought my '99 cab in FL and it has tint. But now I live in the Midwest and the tint just looks out of place. relinuca

Razor blade, Goo Gone (to remove the leftover residue), and patience! I started with the corner of the windows and gently pulled the tint off. If it doesn't come off cleanly, you can use the razor blade at a horizontal angle to peel off the rest of it. You also have to be very careful not to scrape up the defroster lines if you have tint on the back window. 70,000 miles, 6spd, I'm the second owner, and I found it in Hollywood, FL. I bought it from an Italian baker, so the car came with free cannoli Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! Unfortunately, I left the Parade and am back home, but hopefully I can make it out to the next events around the area!
