I wont be able to get under my car for a couple days to measure so i was wondering if anyone had already gone down this road before and just buy two high performance units like these and use my stock pipes on each side of the cats.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In shopping around for a set of sport cats I checked with a source that Ive had build cats for race cars in the past. They do not make a specific Porsche replacement but they do make a universal high flow cat (100 cells or 300 cells) for around $250 each. These are very well-made stainless cats, the company is www.randomtechnology.com My first question is...does anyone know the stock dimensions of the 996 cats? From what i can find the inlet/outlets measure 56mm (?) but i cant find a total length. I wont be able to get under my car for a couple days to measure so i was wondering if anyone had already gone down this road before and just buy two high performance units like these and use my stock pipes on each side of the cats. This would be a simple welding job that any muffler shop should be able to handle for minimal cost.

POST 2Original post

I think it would be alot easier and cheaper to but premade cats for the 996.

POST 3Original post

Purchase them from premade! There are several options.
