Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Just wanted your personal observations of the S/C and how it changed your car.
Leading evidence: 'Replace car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace car' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

They have less cushion but you can easily put more plush foaming to replace the thin ones.

Tippy, the SC is just a straight up bolt on bolt off kit running 6 psi for the 3.4 and 5 psi for the 3.6.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Absolutely stunning!
What a shame it won't be around much longer as the motor should be exploding any day now. FYI, it's true, I just read it in a thread
Sex beast!
Gotta love those seats.... stop posting ****... I've just shelled out for a taco wing and next you'll have me buying seats... life just sucks.
That brown you see is what makes me think the car is Metallic Black, which has gold and brown undertones, and preceded Basalt Black (which has blue undertones).....
My first Pcar was a 98 Metallic Black Boxster.
See you on the summer drive.... you can try the seat again.
I hate it when the bore goes oval, thats what I read anyway.
maybe Ill see the taco on the fall drive
its called violetchromaflair, leave it to the Germans to name such a color
thank you sirs! Totally enjoying this p-car!
Like what LJpete said..problem with the gt3 seats... you'll want a rollbar and safety harness, its just a matter of time.
and for Wellard, here is more ****
How comfortable are those seats?
I'm sure they're nice and "snug", but how are they on a long trip? Do they have they same amount of cushion as the stock seats?
I take long trips in my car, and have driven literally across the country several times, and have found that my stock seats are rather comfortable and non-fatiguing, but of course would love to have some "cooler" seats such as these - but only if they are comfortable to sit in for extended periods.
Im only 5'6" so Im comfortable in them... Ive taken a 6 hr trip in them and not felt overly tired... but they are not as comfortable as the stocks. I would sit in them before I buy, Getting in and out is def more of a struggle than the stockers and the fixed shell will limit rear access. They have less cushion but you can easily put more plush foaming to replace the thin ones.
Thanks for the kind words guys.
Tippy, the SC is just a straight up bolt on bolt off kit running 6 psi for the 3.4 and 5 psi for the 3.6. There is a stage two that runs more boost and its pushing the 997S to over 500hp. Very simple install... but there are alot of installers who eff it up and then calls it unreliable. On the track it runs on "0" on the 180 mark (the air/water intercooler helps alot).
cdodkin: agreed 50mm 1.4 is a great little lense. Hve you tried the 85mm 1.4... even better.
Chao
not a tpc... thats a roots blower.
It has a vortech blower:

Just wanted your personal observations of the S/C and how it changed your car. '99 did it in the past, just curious with yours.
I have driven many boosted cars (owned 4), just curious of the impressions and cars you may of overtaken at the track or street.
It hasnt changed the cars' character at all... its just alot faster and runs cooler more consistently. The power is very linear and pulls all the way up to redline. The cutoff is now 7300 instead of 7200. From what I gather I need a beefier clutch... (from standstill, trying to do 0-60 stuff, the stock clutch is not up to it). When I need to replace the clutch, Im gonna gonna go with a heavier duty and a lwfw, (then Im done). The brakes are fine but I have SS lines and Porsche sports pads. The RS brake ducts helps alot on the track.
As far as on the track/street... the driver is everything for sure. But Ive passed gt3/turbo on straights (who hasnt
). Last sunday, I ran one on one with a 2004 galardo modded 500+hp and he couldnt pull away from me in both the straights and twisties (and he's an advanced driver)... for sure this kit has enabled me to play around with gt3/turbo without having to think about it.... the modded turbos are diff story, but you are talking about speeds that are bit to hardcore for my taste. Those guys are just plain nuts.
Im justing starting to learn the potential of the kit on the track... and its way more fun once you start to getting more pass signals.
As for working on the engine... its pretty simple, Im sure youve seen pictures I posted on my AOS install (the whole left side of the engine was taken apart, including the SC (3 bolts)). Im not a gear head, one day I would love to know how to drop a motor (maybe when my sons are older). People like you are def more hardcore and more knowledgeable about engines (but this kit has been pretty good to me so far with 10K miles maybe 1/3 of that on track). Rennlist/Renntech are my way of getting some good tech info...
the way I see it.... the engine blows when its N/A, why not blow it with the SC.... hahahhahha

Redridge,
What size spacers are you running and with what suspension setup? Last question, where can I get one of the silver hood crests? Car looks great and I love the interior, same as mine
Thanks,
Chad
Im using 7mm rear and 15mm front... got the silver crest from bumperplug.com. I believe he is a site sponsor. Running with pss9 with H&R sways and TRG drop links. Thanks for the kind words.
