another thing with the long mounts: i couldn't adjust the belts tight enough for smaller females unless i adjusted their seats uncomfortably far forward.

it's shorter than the one in the picture & is more comfortable; it also allows people w/ smaller waists to more easily adjust the harnesses.

you only need it if you want to use clip-in harnesses.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
Im gonna install the rollbar soon, but Im about sceptic to the amount of parts for the installation.
Here is a picture of the parts, remember this parts are for 2 rollbars and to the right are links so forget them.
So does this look right to you guys?
Allan,
Do I see in that pic that you have the subwoofer option? What do you do with the sub when the rollbar is in? Do you keep the rollbar in all the time or do you remove after an event? How long does it take you to install/remove?
Thanks.
Sorry to hijack
...then the parts that belong to the bar are the plates and the bolts in the bags. Eye bolts (fasten the plates to the factory seat belt point on the floor) and regular bolts (these bolt the two pieces of the DAS bar together). The loose bolts (not in the bags) do not belong to the DAS bar.
Cheers,
Subwoofer? LOL! This is a GT3....GT3 people who put subs in their cars should be shot.
That's the wiring for the car that you can see when you remove the rear carpet piece to bolt the DAS bar to the strut towers.
I put the bar in once and it's going to stay in there. It'll take a couple hours to install/remove it when you know what you're doing.
Since the bar bolts to the strut towers, the factory carpet piece won't fit anymore. You need to leave it out, cut it to fit around the bar, or make a new piece like I did from plywood and scrap carpeting. Yeah, the carpet doesn't quite match but it shows up more with the camera flash than in real life.
Cheers,
the brackets bolt the roll bar to the floor. two of the eye bolts go through the two front brackets into your factory seat belt mounting point (near each door). the other two eye bolts go on either side of the center console tunnel on the inner seat belt mounting points. the regular bolts (in the bag) bolt the cross braces into the back of the roll bar. the bolts NOT in the bag are for your front drop links.
you might actually have all of the parts for two. one thing that's missing? the brackets for BOTH roll bars that mount the bars in the rear of the car.
check this pic; i see two front brackets, two bolts, two REAR brackets and two holes for eye bolts. not sure how the rear brackets mount to the car.
get the brey krause center tunnel clip-in harness brackets so you have inner attach points.
You've got everything to install two bars, Noby.
The rear brackets that bolt to the strut towers are already welded to the rear X piece.
The rear X piece bolts to the front hoop with two bolts and large nylock nuts. Your pic at the top of this thread shows four of them in one bag (2 for each DAS bar).
The rear X piece bolts onto the strut towers by removing the three nuts on each strut tower, placing the X piece in position over the studs and putting the nuts back on. Torque to 34 ft lbs after the bar is installed (leave loose until the bar is in position).
The DAS bar mounts to the front by using two plates (one each side). You have four of those, enough for two bars. Each mounting plate is bolted to the car with one eye bolt (two per bar and you have four of them).
The main hoop fits into the part of the mounting plate that already has a bolt and nut running through it as you can see in the pic in the post above this.
To summarize....each DAS bar has a total of four regular bolts (two that bolt the two pieces together at the top of the X and two that bolt the main hoop to the mounting plates). There are also only two eye bolts, one for each mounting plate and this bolts the mounting plate to the car. Your clip on harness uses these eye bolts. Another option for you is to not use the eye bolts but to reuse your factory seat belt bolt and use some other harness attachment method like aftermarket clips or the OEM GT3 harness that bolts directly to the seats.
The DAS bar does NOT come with eye bolts for the inboard harness mounts. You need to use aftermarket pieces like I did (BK R9004) or something else. Or use the OEM harnesses that bolt to the seat.
....and you need those E-rings I mentioned before if you are going to use a regular Schroth harness and the factory sub belt bars.

the reason the outside mount for the roll bar uses an eye bolt is so that you can clip a racing harness to it. you will need a place to clip the inboard portion of the lap belts, too. brey-krause makes brackets that bolt to the factory seat belt mounting points. they have a provision which allows you to clip in a harness, too. see pic below. BK also makes an extra short version of this bracket, which i recommend. it's shorter than the one in the picture & is more comfortable; it also allows people w/ smaller waists to more easily adjust the harnesses.
basically, you can attach your shoulder harnesses to the DAS bar and leave them hanging behind your seats. when you go to the track, you clip in your lap harnesses & pull the shoulder belts over the seat. it's a quick and easy way to go from street seat belts to track harnesses.
I see, can I attach it later as right now I dont have this part and propably need to order it from the USA and gonna do the bar this week. But Im good without this part as long as I go street belt?
You may want to reconsider the long vs short tunnel-side mounts. When I finally got the GT3 seats, I ordered the short mounts. The short mounts make it a little harder to connect and disconnect the belts given the tight space between the seat and the tunnel. I ordered and mounted the longer mounts. I still have the short tunnel side mounts for anyone that wants it.
definitely a preference for long vs. short. with the long mounts, the clips on my harness would dig into my side a bit. this probably wouldn't be an issue w/ GT3 seats. another thing with the long mounts: i couldn't adjust the belts tight enough for smaller females unless i adjusted their seats uncomfortably far forward.
