Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just replaced my factory power seats with sport seats. Putting out a feeler to see what the factory seats may be worth. Seats are reasonable condition for 80K+ miles as follows Savanna leather Fully powered seats in all directions (including lumbar on driver side), completely operational not heated Supple leather Porsche crest headrests Memory option module on driver's seat Driver's seat is worn on outer bolsters Passenger seat has three deep scratches in the seating surface (none perforate the leather) Are these sellable for $200 to $250 each (Plus shipping)? Driver's seat back outer bolster Driver's seat base outer bolster Passenger seat base showing scratches

POST 2Original post

I don't want to seem discouraging, but the answer may be, 'not much'. I couldn't give my graphite ones away when I made the switch. I talked to the guy who runs NineApart, and he confirmed that there is practically no demand for comfort seats, at least not where you and I live. As far as price goes, I ended up getting less than $200 from him for mine, so you might do a bit better in an ebay sale. GL!

POST 3Original post

They'll fetch more than that as desk chairs... that's what I've done with old seats in the past.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Bruce. I appreciate the honesty.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now there's an idea.... Thanks Van.

POST 6Original post

So... let's see a photo of the sports seats! If you already posted it and I missed it, I apologize...

POST 8Original post

Yeah unless there's two $100 bills taped to the seats they aren't going to sell. +1 on making seat for the house.

POST 9Original post

if the new seats are worth anything, save the stock ones and when you sell the car swap them back in, sell the sport seats

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

None posted yet... so here you go

POST 12Original post

how do you like them? any major differences you can share? I have a set sitting in my basement, that i was going to install, however due to challenges with the harness i didn't. I plan on putting in some sparco evo's in the near future and wonder if the change is worth it temporarily.. :-)

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I like them very much. I found the stock, comfort seat were hard to adjust to find a comfortable position. Specifically, they lacked lateral support especially in the shoulders. Note : I have replaced all power seats with mostly manual sport seats (i.e. only the back rake is electric). Pros Better shoulder support Better seat base bolsters Better basic lumbar support Overall, more comfortable seats I like the perforated leather feel better Cons Less adjustable than the all power seats (most prominently felt in the limited ability to adjust the seat base height and tilt) While bolsters are generally better, they could be deeper (my 944 sports seats werw 2X better in this regard) The seats would be less comfortable for a very large or broad shouldered individual due to bolster positions (I am 5"11, 200lbs, reasonably broad shouldered and the seats are perfect)

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Weight difference is significant. Probably savings of 40 to 50 lbs. The power seats are heavy....

POST 16Original post

+1 on the weight saving. And I don't miss the power functions at all.

POST 17Original post

Fergus, nice seats. You all have me doubting the comfort of my seats. Walked to the car this afternoon after reading your post and found that my seats are very uncomfortable. Never noticed that before. Did you buy these new? And if I may ask, where? Thanks

POST 18Original post

I think you are a little high wiht the condition... If they didnt have actual holes and tares... i would say you were in the ball park.. I think you will get it but you are on the high side.. I dont think they are going to fly out of the garage. Just an opinion.. We are all entitled.. Dont flame me

POST 19Original post

If you want the power functions, lumbar, etc. you can actually change out the frame and rails to the sport seats, requires a complete disassemble of the seats though.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

They are not new, but in pristine shape. Bought from another lister, after my plea to find said seats a few months ago. Drove 1500 miles round trip to pick them up (fun weekend away), which was way cheaper that $700 to ship them + plus all the border costs. Well worth it. I love the feel and the comfort.

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Won't flame you, Kyle, ever. I asked for an opinion and you provided same and on a very reasonable basis. You interested?

You packed the new seats in the Porsche and drove them home 750 miles? How?

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL! No. I put them in Saab 9-5 station wagon with a set of front fenders for a 1953 MG TD. That being said they fit in the back of my Subaru sedan with no issues.
