Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

wouldn't disconnecting the battery = disconnecting the gauge cluster?
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect battery =' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Disconnect battery =' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

But if I had to choose, I'd like to see what's behind the gauge changes & the shifter changes.

I guess this makes sence because if you change the cluster the dealer cannot reprogram the cluster with the orig miles, only if it reads under 200 miles.

anyways to clarify things, to change the gauge faces = take car to dealer to get initial reading, install the face, then go back to the dealer to have OD set.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well it will soon be time to get all these parts that i have collected on the car, so my question is: Who needs or wants the various DIY.
DarkRedH & R Lowering springs with Bilstein shocks
Aerokit II Side flared rockers with the rear wing, Still looking for a TT front
New Alum E-brake
B & M Short throw shifter
New Alum/CF Shifter
New Alum Face Gauges
New Alum Door sill plates
New Alum Pedals
New GHL Mufflers(Loud of course)
Let me know what you need and i will take pics of everything, if not then i will not bother
Yes, please. To whatever you can manage during the work. There are some good diy's out there but I think, imho, it helps to have more of them.
But if I had to choose, I'd like to see what's behind the gauge changes & the shifter changes.

Hey Dead-Eye. Paul and I will end up doing the suspension install at our friend's shop in Mississauga. You're welcome to join us. I;ve done four of these suspensions so far and it's very straight-forward and takes no more than 3 hours with an occassional beer/coffee break.
kilrgt,
after installing the alum. face gauges, did you have to take your car to the dealer or shop to have the odometer set?
I plan to mod mine too, but still thinking about what color though...
Thanks
Well i havent done them yet....they are on ebay because i wanted KMH and they came in MPH.....But when i do the ones i want, there will be no need to go to the dealer, because they install on my cluster, therfor no need for a porsche dealer. The OD does not reset ones unpluged from the car, its stored in the main ecu...
the OD is not stored in the main ECU. you have to take your car to the dealer. I did this diy and did a write up like a year or two ago. the mileage is stored in the gauge cluster... not on the ecu. only hours are stored on teh ecu's. also the springs and shocks are very straight forward. just like changing them on any other car.
if anyone needs some diy's on the stuff he's listed here... other than the springs... I took picks of just about everything else and I shoudl be able to dig up the write ups. fyi, I also have some extra parts lying around i.e. 3 spoke steering wheel, black leather handbrake with aluminum button, black/aluminum shifter, 5 spoke 17" wheels with tires, etc... they've been accumulating dust in my garage.
parkman,
It doesn't make too much sense... wouldn't disconnecting the battery = disconnecting the gauge cluster?
anyways to clarify things, to change the gauge faces = take car to dealer to get initial reading, install the face, then go back to the dealer to have OD set. right?
if you still have the DIY write up , I'm interested , Thanks.
I talked to the dealer today to confirm this , I do NOT have to bring the car in, the memory is stored in the ECU, however the only thing the gauge cluster stores is the V.I.N. I guess this makes sence because if you change the cluster the dealer cannot reprogram the cluster with the orig miles, only if it reads under 200 miles.
