Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also siliconed the gaps between the speaker, (I used electrical tape to fill the gaps previously, which actually worked quite well and was easy).

would it be bad to add some cotton fill like they do in speaker boxes?

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well I noticed that my left speaker has been sounding different lately. I moded the grills to accept the cdt separates. So I pull the left grill and lo and behold my epoxy job lost it's adhesion and the tweeter was down in the dash! I had a fun time fishing it out needless to say. I am now re-epoxying after sanding the surfaces wtih 600 grit to promote better adhesion. I am going to go up the body of the tweeter receptacle also. I also siliconed the gaps between the speaker, (I used electrical tape to fill the gaps previously, which actually worked quite well and was easy). IN any event, I was thinking... would it be bad to add some cotton fill like they do in speaker boxes? It would greatly increase the mid response as the enclosure obviously sucks and there is metal below. The only issue I can see is that 1. if it gets hot it might catch it on fire!??? and 2. if the airbags go off it might catch it on fire. Any ideas or has anyone done or contemplated this? I am also going to solder all the terminals so I never have to open them up again. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks I can take pics of the moded grills if you want since they're out if anyone is interested.
