Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. AFAIK the modern 911 street cars use a hydraulic PS system.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not sure if this is the correct forum but I thought I would give it a shot.
I was told that Porsche used an electric power steering pump. Is this true and if so, which car?
Thanks,
Guy
Audi and VW. The feel is actually quite good, tuned even better on the Audi.
With all the technology sharing, wouldn't be surprised to see a version of it popping up on some P-car, the Cayenne would seem to be the best candidate especially since there's a hybrid coming.
AFAIK the modern 911 street cars use a hydraulic PS system. The new 997GT3Cup car switched over to an electric PS system to further eliminate parasitic drag from the drive belt. Cheers
The 997 Cup has an electric pump in the front trunk area. So does the 996 R/RS/RSR.
edit: sorry for the repeat Paul. I typed, got busy, hit enter later.
It's easy enough to order from PMNA (Porsche Motorsport North America). Just find a shop that works on race cars or a friend with a cup car. I can get you the part numbers for the 997 version.
What would you be putting it in? Why?
i did call PMNA but they will only sell to teams racing those cars at the moment as they have a low parts supply. I need one asap. If you know someone who is racing a car and is willing to order it for that would be great.
It's going on a Time Attack road race car. We are running out of room on top of the motor (dry sump pump, alt, pwr steering pump, etc..) If we had an electric pum we would have lots of room. The motec can cotrol the pump as I think they can be controlled by pwm modulation.
