I know the SSK can be adjusted so it's not notchy, but I don't think those adjustments effect the throw.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not sure if anyone here has experienced this but after installing the shifter it seems to me like the throws are similar to stock? What have I done wrong?

POST 2Original post

That is the first time I have heard that one. Go you mean that the length of the throws are similar to stock? Is the shift **** seated all the way down on the shifter shaft? If not, it could make the throws longer than they should be. I can't think of any other reason why the B&M Did you get the correct B&M shifter? B&M part number 45135.

POST 3Original post

He could have had the Porsche optioned SSK. C.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey Tim/Chad - Yeh the shift **** is sitting pretty low - but I wouldn't think that would make such a difference, also it's the correct 996 application. Someone on another board mentioned adjusting the cables by a notch?

POST 5Original post

Did you actually measure the throw length? Problem is you are talking about feel and a 20-30% reduction in throw may just feel like it did before. I know the SSK can be adjusted so it's not notchy, but I don't think those adjustments effect the throw.

POST 6Original post

Check the cables, sounds like they are one notch off. Throw was reduced on my 996 C4S Cab from 5" to 3" (measured center of shifter head in 1st gear to center of shifter head in 2nd gear).
