I appreciate that, I'm going to go ahead and place an order for the regulator as I don't like this problem since I use the passenger side door everyday to get my work bag out of the car.

I thought at first I opened the door too quickly but I tried it again and again but still it didn't work.
Awww man...
Was about to head out this evening and I hear a "pop" as I open the passenger side door. I thought at first I opened the door too quickly but I tried it again and again but still it didn't work. I even tried the reset procedure but it still didn't make a difference. On top of that I heard a slight crunch while raising the window regularly.
I read up on the symptoms and solution and think it might be the regulator. So is Sunset the best place to find this part? Also for an average mechanic, is this something that is reasonable to do at home?
There's a microswitch on the door pull that triggers the motor to lower the window. Yours may have failed.
If the regulator is failing, it took me 2 hours to replace mine reading step by step from the workshop manual.
If it doesn't make a sound when you slightly pull the door pull, the microswitch is not working. If you pull the door pull and the door makes a sound without moving the window, the cable is stretched in the window regulator requiring replacement.
1. get in car
2. put key in ignition, turn to lights on dash
3. press button to send windows down
4. press and hold button to send windows up but once the reach the top, hold switch for 45 seconds then release.
5. take key out of ignition, then back in turn to lights on dash.
6. take key out of ignition, open door, window should drop.

Classic symptom of the cable strectching. Your window reg is shot. Next will be crunching sounds.
Its an easy job if you have a manual to tell you where all the hidden bolts are on the door and various connectors needing to be disconnected to pull the door panel off.
I tried it and it didn't make a difference.

+1 Same symtoms as I had. Did lots of research and bought a new window reulator and replaced it. Took a couple of hours I think and not very difficult if you have good directions. Again, research and you'll find the directions, etc. that you need.
