Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dealer finally found the source of my water leak. Seems that there is a plastic cylinder that collects water from the AC condensation. It was cracked with a hole from the factory. Water has been dumping into the passenger side floor since I picked up the car a month ago. The carpeting in the footwells has been soaked. The part was ordered and will be put in tomorrow. I called PCNA and made a complaint. They are going to replace the floor carpet and padding (40th Anniv. color takes weeks to come in) because of the musty odor and possible permanent damage to the padding. They also offered me free servicing for 30,000 miles. It pays to make that call. My only question is how big of a job is it to replace the carpeting and padding in the car? I was told they will have to remove the seats and console. By the way, I asked for a replacement car, which they declined.

POST 2Original post

I'm glad you got it sorted out. It must be a relief. PCNA came through.

POST 3Original post

The best fix for water leaks may be to buy an oil cooled Porsche. But then you need to fix oil leaks. What can you do. Carpet kit may be one continuous piece, in which case the seats definately must come out. LOL

POST 5Original post

paradisenb: Read the first post again. Jaws' problem was an A/C system leak, not an engine cooling leak. Even a "true" Porsche like the 993 could have suffered the problem. Unless ordered w/o A/C that is.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
