Don't need a cpo to cover emissions equipment, all carmakers must cover those parts for 10yrs/100,000mi.

Stock air filter. A K&N might cause an issue with the MAF.

why do so many of us have cat issues? no other cari have had in the past had cat issues... is there a weakness/flaw in the porsche cats opposed to other cars?

I'm not certain if my cats were covered by the basic warranty or CPO. Frankly, it doesn't matter since it was a covered repair and both cats were replace. My cats were also rattling badly. It actually sounds like something was loose. I also have a K&N filter, but it's been in the car for about 20K miles, so I don't really think it's the problem.
