Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
I hear what you're saying, I was referring to taking the wheels off to do a quick cleaning of the inside of the wheel, in that case I don't crawl under any part of the car.
Leading evidence: 'Clean of the inside of the wheel, in' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean of the inside of the wheel, in' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Whatever you do don't go loosening and then tightening all the bolts, there is a specific tightening order.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

UPDATE: ok, found the leak (don't know why there were no signs of it before). It's not as far up as I thought. It's some sort of part, what is this part that's leaking?
just noticed an oil leak on the right side of the engine bay, far up (i.e. towards the passenger cabin). Does this sound like RMS? I couldn't find any leak trails under the car, but it's so hard to see under that car so maybe there is one. (the damn jack point is in the wrong place, so once you get it jacked up any decent amount, the front tire comes off the ground. You'd think the engineers would know that on a short car like that the jack point should be behind the rear tire, not in front of it).
I've got an extended warranty from the dealer (it's just out of the factory warranty), so it's no worries, I'm just wondering.
Richard
so the jack point and the fact that the front tire comes off the ground is a problem because?......... On the other hand, I like that feature...makes taking both wheels off in order to clean them, a "one Jack" job.....well, two, if you do the other side.
It's a problem because having an entire side (as opposed to a front or back) off the ground is very dangerous. BTW, no such thing as a one jack job, every job that needs a jack needs a jack stand. Hydraulic jacks fail all the time, and if you ever know anybody who's been crushed you would not get under a car with only a jack under it.
Speaking of which, are there any centrally located jacking points on these cars (i.e. rear diff or something)?
You can jack up the side with the rear jacking point and put a hack stand under the front jacking point. Then lower the hydraulic jack and, approaching from the rear, position the jack under the engine.
Place the jack just behind the (toward the read) of the oil pan. Jack up the rear and place a jack stand under the normal jacking point just in front of the rear wheel. Now you will have one side up in the air and securely supported by jack stands.
Here is a pic of Orient Express' car with the engine jacking point circled. BTW, OE has photo shopped the jack stands out of the pic.
I wonder which Porsche engineer got the prize for the world's smallest jack points? Or maybe I'm just used to my 80's mercedes where the entire side of the car between the front and rear wheels is one big jacking point.
It looks like the cylinder header cover.
I suppose you could retorque
the
bolt to 13 Nm (10 ft-lbs). Whatever you do don't go loosening and then tightening all the bolts, there is a specific tightening order. If that doesn't work you will need all new micro-encapsulated hex head (M6 x 16) bolts (part #900-378-163-09) and some silicone sealant, either Drei Bond silicone - Type 1209 or Loctite 5900. If retorqing the bolt doesn't work I would leave this to the dealer because there is a special holding tool that needs to be mounted before you remove the cover or you can damage the camshafts and the bearing saddles.
That wasn't designed as a jacking point so be careful using it as such, hydraulic motor mounts have been known to fail.
Hmmm...I'm not so sure it's the cylinder head cover. It looked like some sort of seperate pump. You see that black cable in the second picture? That was a ground going from the unknown part to a ground point on the car.
I hear what you're saying, I was referring to taking the wheels off to do a quick cleaning of the inside of the wheel, in that case I don't crawl under any part of the car. Although I would hate to have the car hit the floor minus it's wheels
Also, about the rear jack point on the (rear diff or something) I just can't seem to get myself to jack from that point.....I have visions of hearing a cracking noise, then watching oil seep all over the garage floor.....send chills down my spine!
