Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I tried to use the key fob and nothing happened, so I use the key, opened door and it stopped.

I think your car need attention..when my wife, kid or dog don't get enough attention they also set off their alarms.....
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Watching TV at about 1030pm and an alarm at the rear of my property starts to sound. Thinking 'They'll turn it off any minute now....2 minutes passes....nothings happening....still sounding.....I open the window...'thats the Porsche!!"
Sprouted wings getting down to the garage which was still locked. Open door to find the car lit up like a christmas tree. Internal/external lights, horn etc flashing /sounding. Nothing unusual in the garage. I tried to use the key fob and nothing happened, so I use the key, opened door and it stopped.
Any thoughts will be gratefully received!!
Heart rate now slowing down
p.s. started car and it ran. Re-armed car.
faulty shock sensor perhaps?
did someone on ur street go by on a harley or a civic with fart can? those can set off alarms. So can Subwoofers if their loud enuff.
my alarm has been randomly going off a few times a day for the last few days. anyone have any ideas? it was real windy (40 mph) the other day, HOWEVER, it has still been happening with calm winds the last day or so. I personally saw it happen a few times and can assure you NOTHING touched it.

Any dealer can check the alarm control unit as the reason the alarm went off is store in the unit.
Jason, check the switches in your arm rest, glove compartment, front bonnet, door switches etc. It could be the imobilizer or even the tracker. BTW where are you UK or US or ?? FYI, the alarm systems differ on UK cars to the US ones.
Thanks Bernie, I suspect it may have been the glove box switch but I can't be sure. Anyway it hasn't done it for a few months now, so it seems to be cured. Oh by the way I'm in Aus-Hows your car going visa vee RMS?
Cheers,
Jason
Ah a true blue ocker!
I lived in Sydney for 10 years. Where in Oz are U?
RMS leak stopped months ago. Don;t know why or how. It just stopped leaking all on its lonesome.
wooo hooo yeah! fantastic! I remember the living hell you went through,so its good to hear the gusher has been plugged. I'm living in the best city in Australia, Sydney (born here 64')
Cheers
Jason
Yea cheers for that.
I lived in Middle Cove North Sydney. Now have dual nationality as I got citezenship when I was there. So I have both Pom and Oz passports.
It is not just the best city in Aus, the best in the worl IMHO.
I assume you don't have an aftermarket alarm. On the stock theft deterrent alarm, the unit is tripped when
1. someone tries to open the door, trunk, hood after armed
2. interior IR sensor picks up movement (any insect or animal inside the car)
Alarm doesn't get tripped with bumped or pushed.
