This is not a probability of success.

If it's totalled, or even if it's repaired, I likely will be trading it on a new work ride, maybe a new A4.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Man, I just hate it when you take precautions to keep some thing out of harms way and it ends up still getting F**ked up!

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got the '04 C4S, so the '01 A4 is relegated to the driveway. As a very strong cold front approached yesterday, I relocated the A4 to the street, out of reach of limbs from trees in my yard. About 1/2 hour later, urged on by a 50mph gust of wind, my neighbor's 75 year old oak decides it's had enough, and topples directly onto my A4. Smashed rear window, top, all passenger side panels - if the C-pillar isn't structurally damaged, the car is likely salvagable and likely sustained $7-10K in damages. Damn it. If it's totalled, or even if it's repaired, I likely will be trading it on a new work ride, maybe a new A4. Good news, the Porsche was uninjured. I've had a great weekend -- not! Phil G. man that sucks, hope it all works out in the end...

POST 3Original post

Crap, Phil, that sucks. Man, I just hate it when you take precautions to keep some thing out of harms way and it ends up still getting F**ked up! Hope it works out for you. Good to hear about the P-car!!!

POST 5Original post

Sorry to hear about the damage. I suppose insurance will pay for it... but then the insurance rate will go up as a result of the claim of a natural disaster, or does it take an actual vehicle accident to make the rate go up?................

POST 6Original post

The premiums should not go up due to natural disaster losses.

POST 7Original post

Pictures please [I know it is sadistic somewhat]

POST 8Original post

Yeah, Phil - whenever something like that happens, you gotta be thinking "Pics for Rennlist!" On the 964 board, one guy's house was broken into over the holidays and he posted a pic of his ransacked garage. That way, we all feel the pain. PS, I thought you had an S4, no?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unfortunately my pics are 1MB - not sure how to resize to <150KB. And yes, I did have an '05 S4 in Northern Blue (special order), but sold it to get the 996 C4S. A good decision. Anyway, the A4 is going into the shop tomorrow - I'll have an idea of whether the car is repairable and even if it is, whether I want to keep it or trade it for something else - perhaps lease a new A4.
