Hey guys, Im currently running the Row030 setup (limited to this due to road conditions so the Pss9s are not a reasonable option), and am thinking of upgrading to the GT3 sways, can anyone give me some comparison #s as to diameter of the 2...and % stiffer...i know that the GT3 sways are 26.7mm front and 20.8rear....but have no idea what the ROW ones are.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is the adjustability of the GT3 ones a huge advantage? What are the H&R sways like? Is it a must to upgrade the end links too? which ones? Just looking at my options... The car is driven hard and occasionally tracked...

POST 2Original post

Sway bars: Normal front 23.1mm(diameter) x3.4mm (thickness) / rear 18.5x2.5mm Sport front 23.6 x 3.6mm / rear 19.6 x 2.6 mm GT3 front 26.8x 4.0mm / rear 20.7 x 2.8 mm GT2 front 26.8x 4.0mm/ rear 20.7x 2.8mm Turbo front 23.6x 3.5mm/ rear 21.7x 3.0mm I would go with the GT3 bars and OEM GT3 drop links. I have heard (second hand) of some install issues with the H&Rs, they may be better now.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks DJ, other then the dealership where can i purchase the OE GT3 drop links?

POST 5Original post

There is a nice thread over on the Boxster Racing Board. A lot applies to 996'ers: http://www.iq.dynip.com/~racing/index.cgi?read=26463

POST 6Original post

How much are the OEM GT3 drop links? I know the adjustables are pretty expensive. $200 for the fronts. $200 for non adjustable rears. $400ish for adjutable rears. expensive considering you can get the GT3 bars for $350 for both. Is there any advantage to going with the adjustable over the OEM drop links?

POST 7Original post

Lindsey Racing is not the cheapest around, but they list the Motorsports end links on their website at $485. The Porsche GT3 bars are $500. The bars are Porsche parts vs. Motorsports parts so I would expect there is less "shopping around" discounting to be had with the Motorsports parts but then again the Motorsports Cup rotors are supposed to be cheaper than OEM Porsche. You could really get away with only one side adjustable since the main intention is to eliminate preload. Whatever links you use in the front though must be shorter on the 986/996 suspensions. The pic on the Lindsey site looks like it is not shorter (or not much) than stock. I wonder if the pickup points on the wheel carriers are higher on the TT/GT2/GT3 wheel carriers? I have not seen the factory GT3 links or Motorsports end links live in person. http://www.lindseyracing.com/Merchan...ARSMOTORSPORTS Anyone know if there is such a thing as a Motorsports catalog? I've sent inquiries in the past to them, but never got anything even such as an acknowledgement.

POST 8Original post

The gt3 front endlinks are the same as the 996's as I have been told and you have to either cut and shorten the front ones 15 or 30mm I forget which, or get adjustable or already shortened ones.

POST 9Original post

hi sharp, sry i didn't get back to you sooner about the specs. DJ 996 has posted the correct spec-ing on the various bars. cheers.

POST 10Original post

You don't need different rear drop links for the GT-3 bars. Here's the whole setup with front endlinks for $650: Schatz Motorsports

POST 11Original post

I stated only for the front drop links- That is a great price though. I am pretty sure by modified droplinks he cuts them 15mm each side. Doing so by a cut 15mm each side in half down 15mm like this: [ [ --- [ ] [ ] and welds them- this is the preferred method for strength

POST 13Original post

Aside from the great price, the other benefit from getting them from Mike is... Mike. More practical knowledge than you can shake a stick at, and very helpful.

POST 14Original post

that's not really that good a price. vividracing.com has slightly better prices you can get the gt3 sways bars (front and rear) for $380. $200 for the adj front end links $200 for the rear end link if you want to change out the factory ones $500 for the rear adjustable end links

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so is it only the super cup sways that have the 5 and 4 holes for adjustment? cause the OE ones on Omars site only have 3 and 2 holes for adjustment....Omar, can you get the super cup ones? if this assumption is correct....

POST 16Original post

Value means different things to different people. I'd rather pay a few bucks more and buy parts from someone who knows more than me about my particular application and maybe do it right from the start. Buy one part twice and all the price savings is more than gone. Different strokes...

POST 17Original post

Sharp, if by motorsport bars, you mean the ones on the lindsay racing website, our bars are the same (same porsche OEM part number) and they are indeed 5 way adjustable on the front and 4 way on the back. if there is a different bar you are looking for, please shoot me an email with the part number and i'll be more than happy to get em for ya.
