Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I replaced all my interior lights this weekend with USP Motorsports LED kit. love the way it looks, but the small lights coming out of the armrests on each door were not included in the kit. Does anyone know where to get LED replacements for these?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just in case everyone is wondering what the heck I'm talking about, I tried to snap a picture...it almost looks like a christmas tree light...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks skiracer...do you know...is it the 5 watt door warning light? That's the only thing I see that I don't recognize...it's clear but not LED....that will work I guess

POST 5Original post

I think so - I purchased their entire 996 interior LED kit and these were included. They're also the easiest bulbs to replace. I'm sure ECS would sell you just the 2 bulbs - the P/N is included in their installation guides that you can view.

POST 6Original post

That little light illuminates the ignition key area so you can see it in the dark when you are trying to start your car.

Never knew this was the primary intent. So is there a light like this on the passenger side? If so, what does it illuminate for us MK1 folks without a glovebox handle to grab for?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was never sure what the intention of those lights was, but I guess that makes sense for the drivers side...and yes there is also one on the passenger side, but I'm guessing likely more for the asthetics of balance than for true purpose. skiracer...thanks I'll contact them.

POST 9Original post

Umm..well on the '02 C2s, they already ARE LEDs, probably why they were not included. There is another one on the inside of each release handle. Only one on the drivers side for the key. ANother overhead where the map lights are, also an LED. They are intentionally yellow to prevent distraction/night blinding, etc.

POST 10Original post

Hmmm, I'll have to check on the mk1's sometime. It always bothered me that those stay on for awhile but if their LED, then I don't have to worry about them as much about prematurely burning out.

POST 11Original post

My stock '02 bulbs were definitely not LED's - they were traditional bulbs. the LED's from ECS are completely different in every aspect except the connector. I'm very pleased w/ the results and the LED's fade off just like the stock bulbs did.

I think Perry only meant the ones in the armrest and overhead courtesy light by the mirror. Did you replace the one in the armrest and if so, do you have a pic of the one you took out?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've looked everywhere on the ECS website and I don't see where these lights are included in their kit. I even went through the install document and there is no mention of them...did I just miss it somewhere?
