Does anyone know if the litronics on an mk1 can be used with the headlights on an mk2? I have an 01 with litronics, can I just buy the mk2 front end and use my same litronics, or do I have to get new ones?
converting your mk 1 to mk 2 is quite expensive. you have to get new bumpers, headlights and fenders. for a few more $ you can make it look like a 997. but if you ask me, i like the mk 1 better thatn the mk 2.

Taking a Mk1 NB 996 and trying to turn it into a Mk2 996 C4S will only result with one thing:

In my business, guys have often wanted me to customize their Harley Sportsters look like a Big Twin. Maybe this is the male equivalent of breast implants???
You also need new wiring harnesses and plus. The connectors are different and they use a different blast. The ballast is mounted on the headlight. You can buy a retrofit kit for 996.2s without bixenons. I remember it is in the $2-2.5K range. It comes with complete headlights, wiring harnesses, connectors, etc.
Probably the cheaper, certainly better, option is to just trade/sell the 996.1 for a 996.2. As part of the deal, you not only get the new front end and headlights; but also a better/stiffer chassis, revised suspension, revised interior, more torque and more hp.
haha...I just want certain things that the WB has, like simple plain black side skirts, red panel along taillights, and thats about it....I like mk1 front also, but have seen some cab mk2 that look great as well
