Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've had both a smart top and remote top installed for about 2 years with no real issues. Recently, the one touch open/close from the remote started to not work. Its something that you program to either hold down the remote key, or once it starts the open/close cycle it will just complete either way. I tried tonite to reset the remote top so that the one touch would work again. Couldn't get it to work, but what was weird was when the top is closed, I heard a "clicking" of some sort of relay in the rear behind the rear seats. I think its somewhere underneath the carpet hiding the hydraulics and motor that make the top go up and down. Any idea what that might be? it almost sounds like its try to start something, but turns off automatically....sounds like it clicks on and clicks off instanteously, and happens about every 10-15 seconds or so. Sometimes I hear it, sometimes I don't. Any help appreciated....Thanks....

POST 2Original post

does the internal (dash) switch work? Checked the fuse? Scanned for codes?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, the top works fine using the dashboard switch, no error codes coming from the durametric scan.

POST 4Original post

so the ST part works? just the RT part that fails? I've heard of others with failing RTs...

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup, the RT works sorta...just the one touch open/close doesn't work. If I hold the key down on the remote it works. I'm actually more concerned with the relay switch that I keep hearing behind the rear seats . It happens after you turn the car off after closing the top. Curious if anyone else has heard this relay in the rear clicking.....not sure if it has to do with the RT - was thinking about taking it out to test, but its sort of a PITA to pull it out from under the seat.
