Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The display on my CR 220 is now gone. Initially, just a couple areas weren't lighting, but now the whole thing is gone. Radio works fine and you can tell at night that the unit is backlit, just can't see anything. Anyone have this happen and/or have suggestions on how to fix it? I hope that I don't have to buy a new unit. I did do a search and the only thread I found suggested cleaning the contacts, which I've done with no success.

POST 2Original post

Send it to Becker for repair if you have too. http://www.beckerautosound.com/Porsc..._vs_repair.htm

POST 3Original post

Watch on Ebay, I have seen the removable faceplates for sale on a regular basis.

POST 4Original post

Mine has a few missing segments occasionally, and it sometimes shows strange characters instead of the CD track number. I may need a new one soon too.

POST 5Original post

Dennis, the "strange characters" are probably Predator symbols which are, most likely, pre-nuke indicators!

POST 6Original post

They are Predator symbols! Sometimes they show up even when the radio is turned off! I think this may be a good excuse for a Pioneer Avic upgrade...
