Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

44 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T205155Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I open my trunk today and hear a horrible...clunk...thunk... The hood Crest just fell sort of...off! right down the hood. Never seen that happen before, the pins on the back just broke off. Too bad, it was in perfect shape. Steeeenkin badges! Hello Suncoast!

POST 2Original post

Ouch... No damage done on the way down i hope?

POST 3Original post

This happens occasionally. The best solution is JB Weld. Weld back on the tabs and let it cure for at least two days. Then reinstall--DO NOT overtorque the nuts. (It can also warp the badge).

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7640781

No patience for that, I will just replace it. But thanks for the info! And I never overtorque my nuts. Had to buff out some scratches from the slide but no harm done.

POST 5Original post

If you close your hood with the crest instead of the area just below the crest this can be the outcome. Just saying

POST 6Original post

Quotes source post: 7640808

You never met the right girl.

POST 7Original post

Ya know....have had that happen a lot. Freaking 100k cars

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7640828

I always use the spot below the crest, never the crest... so there! ha!

POST 9Original post

Maybe you try over torking your nuts..might like it! Not sayin' just sayin'

POST 10Original post

hmm.... its like it had "crest rot" but you drive your car.... did this ever happen to Phil

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 7640988

Did Phil ever actually open his truck lid?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7641247

Nothing I know of??

POST 14Original post

I heard if you glue a magnet to the back of that crest and stick it on your toolbox, everytime you grab a wrench it'll be the correct one.

POST 15Original post

Brace yourself... the new badges are made in china.

POST 17Original post

I have three of them with magnets glued to the back scattered around one on the fridge and tool boxes. It doesn't work on the fridge, sometimes I still grab the warm beer.

POST 18Original post

Quotes source post: 7641505

Yeah but you never grab the mustard when you're thirsty.... Huh??? huh???? Am I right?

POST 19Original post

That is what made me thirsty in the first place.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 7641429

I believe that. IMHO the new badges look very cheap compared to the badges on our 996s.

POST 22Original post

On my 2001 996, I replaced mine with a $3.00 sticker purchased at the dealership. Looks great and saves weight!

POST 23 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7641429

That is disapointing... Ordered a brand new (Shiny Ed!) one from Sunset.

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7641908

Awesome! it will match my new outfit! werd, yo

POST 26Original post

Quotes source post: 7641431

yup that how I fixed mine the second time it happened. the original badge flew off driving on the hwy no chance for that one.

POST 27Original post

Quotes source post: 7641918

Marc, I'll bet yo look good in that outfit!

POST 28Original post

Quotes source post: 7642014

That will be a sweet find for someone someday.

POST 29Original post

if there was an "optional" crest, I am sure you picked the more $$$ one....because the less $$$ one looks like crap !! (sold at Sunset too!) I bought a shiny new one too

POST 30Original post

Chinese Porsche crests - what has the world come to? OTOH, maybe the China crest wont fall off?

POST 31Original post

Perhaps it is so ugly that you would want it to fall off...

POST 32Original post

You know, personally I think that Marc spent so much time polishing his crest that he just wore it out.

POST 34Original post

Quotes source post: 7642680

Or maybe they are painted with Cadmium and will give you gonocephiherpalese.

POST 35Original post

Quotes source post: 7641882

POST 37Original post

Quotes source post: 7643896

Can I be interested??? my car "needs" a new one

POST 39Original post

make sure the badge goes in that rubber grommet.... I hate it when the badge just sits on top of the rubber piece.

POST 40Original post

Marc talk to philooo he's getting a new welder, that sucker won't come off again.

POST 41 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7643896
