The only thing I'm skeptically about is cleaning those suckers!

I'm looking to upgrade to a 19" application, I know how some frown upon 19s, but I'll be using my 18's for the track anyways.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm in the market to switch wheels since summer is rapidly approaching.
My car came with 18" Classics (made by BBS) with black centers and a polished lip. Although I like the whole black look, I'm not very fond of the spoke design. Plus, maybe having black wheels on a black car with black interior is a little bit of an overkill.

Let me know what you guys think, I'm having a tough time with this, as I love all four of them. (oh and before you guys jump the gun, I have clear side markers in and suspension is on its way! this is an old pic)
Thanks for your help, guys.
ps. my p-shop skills are lacking, so pls bear with me!

Seems like the consensus is between the LM's and Techarts.. Personally, I've always been in love with LMs.. The only thing I'm skeptically about is cleaning those suckers! Any LM owners out there?
What about the Techarts in Silver? I think it would set off the black body better and define the lines of the car rather than blurring it all together...just my $.02, but I saw a black 996 turbo with those techarts in silver a while ago and it was drop dead gorgeous....keep us updated on your decision
I'd personally go for the HRE 841R (1st pic). The 2nd and 4th pics reminds me of getto rider - btw a highly entertaining read can be found here on AutoBahn where a guy took a 996TT and made the WORST transformation in the history of Porsche. I think he had some wheels similar to the one's you have in pic 4

Your car is the original 996 body style which is less aggressive than the latter 996 Turbo style with the big air ducts, etc. Your black body color is a classy color. I see fundamentally a classy/sporty look with your aero pieces. Thus, I vote for the BBS LMs first (classy, light/functional, not-pretentious race gear). You may also consider Champions RG19s which are similar to the LM style but without the 3-piece bolts to clean (

. Whichever, I vote for silver. I'm generally not in the majority, but I'm not a fan of all black on black on black on black. Sometimes it works, but, in general, kinda too Darth Vader for me. I prefer a little contrast with the silver. You know--a little yin-yang thing.
smarouli--thanks for the cross post to the autobahn board....hilarious what some of those people responded with...Airbag suspension on the 996 Turbo....I wonder if it has hydraulics too...
ventoGT - it was soooooo funny I couldn't stop laughing....i'm wondering if he won the TT in a draw or something cause to buy one you need to have taste - now to do that kind of conversion you must be in OD!!!!
you should go and read my latest post (see link in prev. page). The guy who did the conversion claims he took the car in a Car competition and I believe he's one of the finalists - what a JOKE - really can't believe that..!
I'd have to say that wheels should be selected on personal opinion. A lot depends on if you want to be different, have a better ride, need a change or maybe just want to spend money. Of the 4 suggested the LMs look best IMO, but I still think this is a personal decision. No matter what you do some of us will love it and others will...not. Except for maybe the post on Autobahn...those wheels really are fugly (I would not say that directly to the individual). Why not buy several? Have fun!
