Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It is not a good fit; it is really made for the front seat and includes the airbag deactivation device (which must be dealer installed including programming the car's computer).

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So here's the deal -- two small kids, one about three, the other about 18 mos. Wife will consent to purchase of 996 IF AND ONLY IF I can, on occasion, fit one of our children into a child car seat that would have to fit into the rear of the car. I know Porsche designs toddler seats for the 996 but I couldn't determine from the factory website whether the seat can be installed in the rear of the cabin or only in the front passenger seat. The Porsche would be the third car in the family and would rarely have to serve as a kid hauler. It must, however, be able to serve in that capacity in a pinch. Otherwise it's a non--starter with the wife. Can you help? Is this doable? Even the dealers I have talked to seem unsure. I really want to make this work, especially since my 3 year old would likely enjoy the experience of riding in a 911 as much as I will. Her first sentence was, I kid you not, "faster daddy, faster . . . ."
a typical 3 year will sit in a booster seat , and in that case there are lots of good seats available.
I would recommend Britax brand, bodyguard or parkway (the latest model).
Britax is the OEM for porsche booster seats and those two models mentioned above are better than outdated porsche ones.
I just bought Parkway for my 3.5 girl and she really likes it. It fits nicely in the back seat of my 996.
Here is one link you can browse different models.

britax is the only car seat that'll fit in back. back seat is extremely narrow and normal Graco etc seats will not fit in. you can put car seat or booster in back.
Other seats, not just Britax, will fit in the back, but the best way to determine this is to go to a large store and see what fits by trying.
I used the Porsche mid-size seat in the back (previously in my 996, now for my 997S) for my 3.5 y/o. It is not a good fit; it is really made for the front seat and includes the airbag deactivation device (which must be dealer installed including programming the car's computer). If you buy a Porsche seat, they include the installation. In short, you can can easily carry kids in the back (the possible limitation being room behind the driver's seat, which does not work for me), and with the proper setup you can also carry a kid in the front passenger seat.
