Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I really like the color however I think he could also use some winter tires.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I thought this was appropriate for this time of year. I really like the color however I think he could also use some winter tires. http://carpundit.typepad.com/carpund..._porsche_.html

POST 2Original post

I Have a C4 and don't necessarily drive it during snow season and never bothered to get snow tires until, I got caught in a snow storm driving in to NYC from Upstate NY. AWD makes no difference if you have summer tires. So I went out and got smaller wheels 17's with snow tires. What a difference!

POST 4Original post

I don't drive mine in the snow unless I absolutely have to. It has nothing to do with the car's traction or performance, but with the many ******* drivers on the road. Since I bought my Toyota Sequioa in 2001, I have been rear ended in the snow 6 times! I don't even get the bumper repaired anymore. It's always about $1,000 in damage and I just take the money and pocket it. I just don't feel like exposing the back of my 996 to the same damage and possible engine destruction, unnecessarily.

POST 5Original post

Fear of getting salt on the car would keep me out of the snow. I grew up in upstate NY and got used to seeing cars die an early death from the road salt.

POST 6Original post

AWD != invincible Tires are the ONLY thing that is supposed to connect your car to the road. If its even cold out (~30 degrees F) you should have at minimum all season, if not dedicated winter tires. The compounds in summer-only tires turns rock solid in cold weather and you have very minimal traction. Not to mention, AWD and dedicated snow tires is a heck of a lot of fun in snowy parking lots Its great when I can just drive out of the driveway in a foot of unplowed snow, and my dad (996 C2) and my brother (BMW 535i) just stare at me, and continue to clear out the driveway (~300 ft long). AWDs golden rule: When in doubt, gas gas gas. Lifting just makes it worse. ~Apex
