If you need the car covered and it's only going to be indoors, I'd recommend a thin breathable felt.

But for those of you who use car covers on your watercooled P-Cars (especially the outdoor cover kind), after you park your car do you wait a while to let the engine cool and then cover the car, or not wait?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First, apologies. I know this question is in there somewhere in the archives, bit I've treid the search now for the last 2 nights and I come up empty. So I'll ask in a new post. I'm looking for an indoor car cover, for when I store the car in the winter. Found several on Pano. Anyone here want to sound off on which one they like, why, and where they got it? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Sorry Palting for hijacking your thread... But for those of you who use car covers on your watercooled P-Cars (especially the outdoor cover kind), after you park your car do you wait a while to let the engine cool and then cover the car, or not wait? do you raise the rear spoiler? either way does it matter? Thanks.

http://www.calcarcover.com california car cover are the best. I bought those for my Ferrari. Sweet stuff.

POST 4Original post

I used a high end water resilent "outdoor" car cover a few years ago (can't recall the brand), and had big problems with the humidity buildup under the car after a rain / sun cycle. Basically aged the interior (this was an old MGB roadster) in one rainy season (California winter). If you need the car covered and it's only going to be indoors, I'd recommend a thin breathable felt. Just to keep the dust out and to protect from the unforseen scratch waiting to happen (like a child walking around with a screwdriver). Sorry I don't have a more specific recommendation, but I'd steer clear of weather-proof covers that may seal in the moisture if your applications is 100% indoors.

I would rank the European Porsche Tequipment indoor cover at the top. It's the only cover I use on my 996TT (yes, she's a queen; heated garage, top bunk bed above the Cup car) (you can tell the Euro cover as it has a colored Porsche crest and a very soft lining; nothing like the US covers). https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...achmentid=8989 (photo courtesy of KPV from the 996TT forum) I bought mine from Brandywine Porsche, I would imagine any Porsche parts dealer could order it.

POST 6Original post

Covercraft makes a host of different covers, I really like the Dustoff. I've had 2 - one for a C2 Coupe , the other for my TTCab. It is soft and flannelike , therefore providing a little ding protection from whatever you may have bouncing around in your garage, like kids ,wives with groceries etc. It is indoor only. Try their site www.covercraft.com

POST 7Original post

I bought the Evolution 4 for the added protection since mine is only stored indoors. It is the "thickest" cover that offers all the benefits of an outdoor cover plus good padding that will prevent accidental dings or scratches. I bought from these guys and they are good. Price is about the best I could find plus it includeda free bag and shipping. www.CarCoverKingdom.com Good luck!
