Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Around my neck of the woods I'm guaranteed to get rock chips and probably a cracked windshield from all the gravel they spread on the highways.

Using Blizzak 25s, which are proving quiet and actually a smoother ride than my summer tires (not that I have any other winter tires to compare to, however.)
Leading evidence: 'cracked windshield' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cracked windshield' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Use blizzak 25s' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well, it's not the cover of Rolling Stone, but what the . . .
This is our local PCA monthly; Nord Stern (fyi; German for North Star).
Most seem to hide these P-cars all winter, but it is really a fun car to drive, not to mention a really comfortable winter car. Using Blizzak 25s, which are proving quiet and actually a smoother ride than my summer tires (not that I have any other winter tires to compare to, however.)

That's a beautiful photo!

Yeah, that's a problem. Put a crack in my Audi tt windshield a couple years ago . . . I did go with clearbra on bumper, hood (partial) and headlights. Seems to be working great.
Plus, to be honest, if it's REALLY bad I drive the Highlander . . .
Congrats, I thought that was a great shot when I saw it a while back....
I thought from the title of the magazine that you were in Germany, but guess not....
- Where are you located?
Thanks--I am in Minnesota--our regional PCA is Nord Stern. Been lost of fun so far, we have access to a suprisingly nice race track in Brainerd, MN (of all places).
Thanks everyone . ..
When I was a kid I liked either the XKE (still my favorite) and the 911. The only difference is the 911s continued to be great, while the current XK looks like, well, a Pontiac (am I safe here?).
The 911's really have nice lines. Just washed it today. Hit 32! Set up to supply hot, softened water thru the garage to wash in the driveway.
First of all, my apologies to Jon996 for "highjacking" his thread, but I just couldn't pass this one up. Jon, hopefully you will forgive me!
Phil, you are much too modest! After doing an exhaustive search, I was able to find a copy of the October 2007 issue of NERD STORM which highlighted Phil's car on the cover! BTW - NERD STORM is not to be confused with
Nord Stern
which Jon996 posted.
This must be the month for cover photos. The Orient Express made the cover of our Regions Prieta Post this month. This photo is from my 5000 mile cross-country trip this summer. It is in eastern Colorado on I70 where the car is about to go into its first thunderstorm ever!
Paul and Jon,
Not sure I've met you guys but stop by and say hello at First Fling. I should be driving my new 944T track car. And, maybe the cup car for a couple of laps.
Jim
Sounds great--also will visit the concours again--that was really interesting! I was in Brainerd last year for the annual race, and at least drove around on the parade laps (which got pretty fast by the end . . .
)
Now we know why you S4 is having shifting problems. To get the car into first gear, you i are supposed to push the **** forward, not move it up and down!
Yes, I do and I've vowed to drive it after the PA winter. BTW, my brother just bought a 2006 Boxster S out of Florida with 500 miles - and you guys think I'm nuts!!
Ever try it Tim? You have no idea how much fun that can be. Especially when you grasp the wheel and move it back and forth like you're really driving it!!
If you think THAT'S fun, you should start the engine and actually drive it, preferably above 25 MPH. The car's exhaust will make the vrooommm noises and you'll have a "woodie" the whole time you are driving it.
Yeah Phil, go see your shrink again. He told me he is getting the whole body of his new 997 TT covered with a clear bra....... and he needs someone (a.k.a you) to pay for it!
