Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Changing holiday weekend call is next to impossible for me.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Okay, first call - who's going to the Porsche Parade in Charlotte?
I'm severely tempted, if only for an excuse to get together with Tim and Dell.
Right now I'm thinking of driving down on Friday and driving back on Tuesday - maybe we can do a Rennlist gathering.
Come on down. I volunteered through the local PCA and will be taking the week off to help. Here's a link to some preliminary info:
http://www.paradecharlotte.org/
Hey guys - we'd welcome you all with open arms down here. I've been attending the Parade meetings, as I'll be working on the Presentations for the banquets through our Carolinas Region chapter. It looks like this is going to be a stellar event!
If you do plan on attending, registration is expected to fill up on the first day, so make sure you get to the website on the first day of registration and sign up! There will be a Carolinas Region DE just following the Parade at Lowe's Motor Speedway, so if you can't get into the Parade proper you may as well come into town for that.
So help me understand how this works - is there limited entrance to the parade events? - this would be my first one, so I've no clue how they're run or what goes on.
It is a rather long trip for me.. believe the events are about 2 blocks from my office
Would be my first parade as well and definitely am interested to meet up with people.
Dutchie, I'd forgotten that you were in Charlotte also - cool!
For us it will be around an 8-9 hour drive - the longest drive I'll have taken with the Porsche. I'd thought of suggesting that Phil join us, but I think that would just send him into convulsions at the thought of putting that many miles on his car.
So does anyone know how these work? I have no sense of the logistics of the event.
Unfortunately, I'll be out of the country when the registration opens, so I'll have to rely on either having a good internet connection at my hotel in Brussels, or getting my wife to do the registration for me.
Waye, you know I've been consciously avoiding this post. See, here's what we'd be looking at: 510 (yes, five hundred ten) highway miles each way, which means >1000 miles (almost double my current mileage). But, that's nothing compared to the expense of the extra psychiatrist visits this would incur. We're talking big $$$$ here. All kidding aside, the only truth here is that - no lie - I'm really, truly on-call July 4th weekend, which is the conclusion of the event. Changing holiday weekend call is next to impossible for me.
Should be fun - I went to one of these events in Orangeburg NY years ago, when my brother showed his 1968 Sepia Brown 911T and came in a close 2nd to "Mr. Clean" - those in CT may remember him (he had a perfect '60's Guards Red 911S Targa).
I did wonder when I'd manage to taunt you into responding.
Don't worry about being on call - we're not staying the whole week, you can do a partial week like us. We'll drive down on Friday or Saturday then stay until Tuesday or Wednesday - you could do the same. any more excuses?
Well, just eyeballing the calendar I'm thinking of driving down on Friday June 28th.
I figure we could spend Saturday seeing Charlotte and any Rennlisters that are interested in getting together, then spending the rest of the time with the event and driving back on Tuesday July 1st (most likely) or Wednesday July 2nd.
My company has a facility in Charlotte, so if I can figure out an excuse to stay a while on business I might do that, but that's unlikely that I'd spend more than an extra day.
So do you need to stay in the hotel to participate, how does all of this work??
Phil,
Here is the solution to your problem...

They can pick your car up at home and drop it off right at the concours location... you may get in and out to Charlotte from PA without adding more than a mile on the odometer!
Wayne, well so much for Phil's commitment to drive the car in '08!
Phil, remember I told you a few weeks back that when I detected that you were reluctant to drive the C4S I was going to ask you if the words "leaking battery" ring a bell?
Oh no, no, no!! Been there, done that with my '65 XKE coupe. In 1993, I won 2nd place overall in the National JCNA Biennial Concours. I had that car for 3 years and put approximately 20 miles on it. (Yes, Tim the battery destructed on that one, too!!) That car was recently sold to a collector in Greece for twice what I paid for it. Of course, I sold it to a collector in CO for exactly what I paid for it - before the prices on those cars went through the roof. My days of showing cars are over. Lots of tension, and little fun. I may consider going down to the Parade, but not to show my car.
Now, Tim. I said I would drive it in '08, but let's not get carried away! Now, if the battery leaks again, I know precisely what to do -- call Wayne to jump start me!
If anyone from Toronto area is planning on driving to CLT for this please let me know. Perhaps we can get three or four from Toronto, Niagara Falls, Buffalo to drive down together. Looks like a good time.
Andy T
I know, I was holding back on reminding him. It looks like he's leaning towards doing the drive.
It could be pretty cool to have a bunch of PA, NJ, NY drivers head down there.
Cute, Tim!
Wanna get away? Maybe I'll just fly Southwest from Philly to Charlotte. Too bad I don't have a Boxster - then I could carry it on. Seriously, I'll look at my schedule and see what I can do.
Just tell your brother that you need to borrow his "new to him" Boxster (you know, the one with 500 miles on it) for a few days. When you return it with 2,500 miles on it and he gives you the "look" you simply reply "WHAT???? I filled the gas tank!"
Or maybe you could borrow your threrapist's 997 TT! God knows he should feel obligated to let you use it, since you paid for it!
