Greeting everyone � I�ve completed lots of strero related searches and can�t seem to find an answer. I do not have door speakers on my 99 996. Looking at the door panels, it appears the lower (carpeted) area is the different. I�m planning a stereo update and want door speakers while keeping a stock look. Has anyone replaced the lower portion of the door panel to install door speakers? Is there another (or better without big $$$ for new panels) way to mount door speakers? Thanks for any info.

I did a little research on this. There's no easy solution. One option is to buy a new door panel, the other is to have a good installer fabricate something into your existing panel. Doing a good fabrication job costs about the same as a new door panel, but you may get a higher quality and better sounding result. Really depends on the installer. If an installer offers to do something for significantly less, they may not know what they're doing. If I recall correctly, new door panels run $700-800 or so. Thanks for the responses - I'll get some estimates from an installer than compare to new door panels..
