After 3 months of ownership and 3k miles, it happened right at 44,xxx miles. My daughter noticed the drops of oil on the garage floor. Took it to my local dealer here in So Cal and the damage was 8.35 hours of labor plus parts ($80 for RMS kit, $80 for oil and $20 for filter - oil and filter prices were inflated). At least the oil change was due anyway. All I need to do now is pop in an air filter, check the hoses and done with the 45k service The dealer said the parts and labor are warrantied for 24 months and they have it in writing on the invoice. We'll see if they keep their word should I, touch wood, need another RMS job. Has anyone had their RMS replaced off warranty and got similar warranty?

I bought 1999 Ocean Blue cab with under 30,000 miles on it. Within two weeks of ownership I noticed drops of oil on the garage floor. The RMS was replaced 21 months ago by the prior/original owner. I brought it to the local dealer and they replaced it under warranty. By the time I got home RMS was leaking again. From what the dealer told me the new RMS was defective. I think the mechanic was defective. I should have the car back tomorrow. I was told by dealer that it will be covered under warranty for two years, unlimited mileage. I hope to get that in writing.
