Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
The term "sniff test" takes on new meaning now when looking at a "too good to be true" P-car.
Leading evidence: 'Test " takes' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test " takes' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I was doing my weekly drive-by of the local dealer and noticed they had several cabs similar to mine (03 about 40K miles, CPO, moderate options) for about $65K marked down to $60-62K. That's more than I paid for mine a year ago and higher than I have seen for a while. Think 996 values are rebounding a little?
Incidentally, it has been almost exactly one year of blissful ownership. 14K miles of pure heaven. Not bad considering my commute is only 5 miles each way and I've probably been travelling for at least three of those months. Happy anniversary to me.
Maybe so, but there a slew of 1999-2000 996s in the mid-30s in South Florida. Yes, they look to be "rid hard and put up wet" with a bazillion miles on the clock, but they will impact market values down this way. (for those of us looking ot buy a pre-owned P-car, this is Good. For sellers, Not So Good)

We spent five nights in Sunny Isles Beach/Aventura and there were darn near as many P-Cars on A1A as there are on the streets of Frankfurt. Then there's the Bentleys, the DB9's...
Sorry, P-car prices are not going up.
Your just seeing wishful thinking and pricing by dealers for the Spring and Summer.
Dealers will sometimes price their vehicles a little lower during the winter months, especially in nasty weather parts of the country. When the world thaws out, and people start crawling out from under their rocks, the pricing goes up accordingly.

There are four Carreras and about half a dozen Boxsters within two blocks of my house. They make me crazy as the drive by, PSE's singing. My wife is really looking forward to me getting the car so I will stop whining. (Wait til she realizes I need Mods!)
"Soaked" P-Cars are a real concern, especially down here, so close to Louisiana. The term "sniff test" takes on new meaning now when looking at a "too good to be true" P-car. Yes, I know a PPI is must. If this forum has taught me nothing else, I know to get a PPI and not to just take the word of a non-Porsche dealer.
