Both the front and rear glass needs to be replaced along with new leather seat covers (redyeing wouldn't help), new headliner, new radio (was a refurb unit with problems), ect.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The ad listed below is way off on the description of the car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=4599205114] Below is a a partial summary of the issues with the car and the ebay ad. 1 - Paint is starting to dull and has lots of scratches 2 - slight oil leak (1/2 quart every 4-6k miles) 3 - Leather is worn pretty bad on the front seats 4 - Back of the front seats are ripped (one of the previous owners had a wheelchair that caused this) 5 - The headliner has quite a few small rips in it (previous owner again) 6 - The rear window is scratched on the inside (previous owner again) 7 - The front windshield is pitted and had deep scratches from sand in the wiperblades 8 - It was not a 'one owner' car as I was the 3rd person to own the car. 9 - It was not a 'new Porsche trade in' as I traded in the car at a Ford dealership in Austin for a BMW Z4 3.0 The list keeps going on and on. The car is great if you want something to fix up (my original plan) but its not in the condition they are listing it in. I traded the car in because I needed something as a daily driver with a warranty. If anyone bids on this car, please feel free to contact me for my history on the car for the 7 months I owned. Please past this post on to any other site you might think would be interested in it. I'd hate to see someone get ripped off due to a dealer out to make a quick buck. -------------------- Richard '99 911 coupe Guards Red, Full leather (beige), Tiptronic

POST 4Original post

Not a bad price though. Is it really that bad?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought the vehicle in March of '05 and decided to trade it in Oct of the same year. Both the front and rear glass needs to be replaced along with new leather seat covers (redyeing wouldn't help), new headliner, new radio (was a refurb unit with problems), ect. Plus the paint was starting to go really quick, especially the front bumper. (Bad repaint from a previous owner). So adding all that up before even getting to a full repaint, you're talking several thousands of dollars to get the car in good shape. The whole point of my post was to inform potential buyers not to take this dealer even anywhere close to his word on the history and condition of the car. I was owner #3 yet the ebay ad has it listed as a 'one owner' car. The car is listed as a Texas car but was originally from Georgia. As for the price, the Buy it now price is way too high for the state the car is in. I paid less than that myself for it back in March and that was with 12,000 less miles.

POST 7Original post

Thanatos, that was very honorable of you to come on here and warn us about this car. You deserve good karma for the rest of the year! Are you Greek by any chance?

POST 8Original post

Funny, It is on autotrader for $1000 less than the e-bay buy it now price. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...00&cardist=915

POST 9Original post

Yikes - you're a car dealers worst nightmare. Only in the internet age could a previous owner jump on to contradict a dealers resale of their car. Amazing. But you know, $27k, supple leather, three spoke wheel, and 993 Targa rip off wheels....sounds like a winner.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's what I thought when I bought the car. Then I started to notice all the little problems with the car and started to add up what it would cost to get the car to the shape I wanted it to be in. After adding it all up I could have bought a better condition car for about the same if not a bit more. The photos on the ad do not properly reflect the state of the vehicle. Of course having driven the car for 7 months I know all the issues by heart and might over emphasis them a bit. However I'd rather any potential buyers from the site know what they are looking at. So if anyone is really interested in it, let me know and I can run down all the things I know about it. If it goes for under $25k then its probably worth to fix up, anything over and you might as well keep searching. (just my opinion).

POST 11Original post

Good man!!! Looks nice in the ad but looks can be deceiving in this case.

POST 12Original post

Thank you very much,I never got past the wheels ~!

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

the rims were one of the things that got me also. One of the previous owner just had to have them. Since the tires on the car were almost brand new I saw no reason to change the rims out while I had the car as I wanted to move up to some 18 inch thin spokes. For the most part all the items I changed out I pulled back off before trading in the car. (beige leather tip shifter with silver button, a better working Porsche stock CD player, and a beige center console with lid) It seems every car I get, sooner or later I end up with parts left over in my garage. :-P

POST 17Original post

Thanks for the warning Thanatos. It sure looks all purdy in the pics. Coulda fooled me.

POST 19Original post

Nice of you to come on here and say that...I highly doubt the winning bidder was a Rennlister, but if it was, shame on them for buying it sight unseen
