Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

On the one hand, you can say bogus, and just replaced the punctured tire.
Leading evidence: 'Replace punctured tire' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). But, for daily driving, it works fine (ask me how I know after falling for the need to replace BOTH tires after a puncture routine twice).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all.
In the 2 1/2 yrs I've owned my 996 Targa, I have flatted 4 times, all with a screw or nail deep into the tire (all but one on the rear, driver's side). I have owned two M3's in the past, and have used Z rated rubber, and never experienced this kind of frequency.
So...am I an unsual case with a set of rims that magnetically attracts pointy road debris. Or is your 996 experience significantly different from past performance cars you have owned? And, if I am not alone, what explains this (i.e., width of tires)?

Depends who you ask and how bad the damage is.
Porsche will tell you that you need to replace the punctured tire completely with a new tire. Worse, if the opposite side tire (left or right) has over 3000 miles on it, they will say that it needs to be replaced as well. So, you basically have to replace two tires.
On the one hand, you can say bogus, and just replaced the punctured tire.
Or, you can have the tire patched if the puncture is on the tread and not on the sidewall. But, to do so with these high performance tires still requires the tire to come off the wheel, the puncture plugged and patched, and an adhesive seal ant to be glued in place. The tire can then be remounted and ready to roll. It costs about 5-10 bucks all in. If you buy your tires at the shop, they'll often do it for free. Of course, I wouldn't want to drive like a nut on a patched tire and surely would NOT track the car ever in that condition. But, for daily driving, it works fine (ask me how I know after falling for the need to replace BOTH tires after a puncture routine twice).
