Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

my indie usually requires a little "hand holding" in order to call in, but the one time he did the repair without calling i explained the situation to them and they paid in full.

Given my usage rate, I'll be over miles in two years....is it worth getting the extended warranty or should I just buy a little piggy bank and set the money aside??

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've search past posts, but am still wavering on whether or not I should purchase an extended warranty for my 99 996?
Here's my situation:
-I drive about 120 miles a day, so mileage coverage will be more of a concern than years covered
-Just had car PPI's and fixed all known problems on car (ie leaky cam seal, MAF) under existing extended warranty (good for another 9 months)
-I am mechanicall inclined, but mostly DIY mods/projects
Warranty America (through AAAutowarranty.com) is offering a 5year/100K mile warrranty for about $2800.

Something also to consider...
During my recent warranty claim, it took the service guy many hours on the phone to get the authorization, do additional paperwork, and get final payment(I was there to witness). He said those "extra" hours dealing with warranty companies are usually billed to the customer as "admin fees"! I don't blame them though....the voicemail hell they have to go through is unbelievable....and if you mess up, you hae to start all over...
...i've been with warrantybynet.com for the past two years and have had no issues what so ever to date.
i went with 5 years 100,000 miles--cost me about $2,000 for my '99 C4with about 30K on it at the time.
no major problems with the car--but a few small things have added up to more than the $2 grrr. all they require is a call in for authorization prior to repair being done. i've used it at both my indie and the dealer.
