Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my RHD 996 when lowering both front windows, one lowers more than the other. The near side window completely disappears with no glass showing but the off side preturdes by about 1 inch. Is this correct? I've just bought the car and replaced the windows regulator as it was broke so have no idea what it was like before it broke. Many thanks

POST 2Original post

The regulator on the window that doesn't retract all the way down sounds like it still has the stop that needs to be removed for the 996. The regulator is for both the Boxter and the 996. If you use it for the Boxter, the stop stays in place. For the 996, it has to be removed and the 996 uses another stop. The "stop" is located on the regulator itself. I could be wrong but from reading all the DIY help, that is what it sounds like. I am going to replace a regulator in a couple days.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
