Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought a 2000 C2 a while back and then the upgrades began:
I got a new engine.
I upgraded suspensions (twice).
I upgraded swaybars (twice).
I upgraded wheels.
I upgraded tires.
I upgraded rotors.
I upgraded pads.
I upgraded brake fluid.
I upgraded control arms.
I upgraded to a 3rd radiator.
I upgraded to a full aerokit.
I upgraded brake ducts.
I upgraded brake scoops.
I upgraded seats.
I got a GMG roll bar.
I upgraded so many parts that I can't remember all of them now.
So basically, I did a "few" upgrades. I upgraded so many things I was rapidly approaching GT3 speeds on the track (well in the corners
) - except it wasn't ever going to be a GT3. Oh, sad me. Never going to be...
So I just gave in and upgraded the whole friggin car. And now it IS a GT3.
2004 996 GT3. 20,7XX miles on the ticker, Purchased from a fellow RennLister. Already armed with euroseats, harnesses and Tequipment roll bar, Deman rotors, pagid pads, rennline pedals, and an army of spare parts (rotors, pads, and some other goodies). It was delivered to Ruf on Tuesday and they ran it through the wringer for me, including a full bumper to bumper inspection, 15,000 miles service, all new filters, oil, brake flush and they fixed a few minor things that were off kilter.
I officially completed the upgrade today! Oh, and what an upgrade it is. Driving this is like my old car on steroids. Lots of steroids and a few Red Bulls.
So, here are some teaser pics (because I ran out of daylight). I'll report more tomorrow.

Whoa... cool!!!My, my, my... she's a beaut! Congrats, I'll bet it's a blast to drive... I see the pumpkins are off... pssst... the amber bulbs are showing through...
Congrats again... keep us updated with your impressions.
Rudy
Yeah, I don't think the neighbors can even tell the difference
You wanna hit the same Starbucks as last time? Say around 10:00? I'll PM the exact address.

WOW Tom !
thats a hell of a car.... all the best wishes for you on driving it and enjoying it
Tim might need a little hug from us after you give him a ride in it though
TD, way to go! You know that's what we all dream of doing. There is one right now on the GT3 forum for $48,000...I have been whining to my wife for the past two days about it. Please tell us how it compares, when you get the chance.
That's what I do with guitars! Get similar sunburst colors, and they all start looking the same!
"Wasn't that guitar a little more orange?"
"Yeah...must have faded or something...not a NEW Les Paul..yeah!"
It was cool seeing you at the get together - thanks for the head's up!
I am meeting Tom for coffee tomorrow morning, so I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon!
To be honest, I don't know if it is possible for the Honda to suck any more than it already does, but you never know!
OK, I met Tom for coffee this morning.
He took me for a ride in the GT3 and then let me drive it on the trip back to Starbucks. Prior to today I had never ridden in a GT3, let alone driven one. Now I know what all the fuss is about concerning a GT3! WOW! The torque and high revs are AWESOME! Did I already say.... WOW?
Tom has a sweet car! He was very generous in letting me drive the car. Cruising on the highway at 80 MPH in 4th gear at only 5K RPM. Punch it at you are up to 100 in no time! Never even got close to 8,200 red line.
Now to answer Mark's (MFletch) question
"Does the Honda suck even more now after your test drive?"
Well, let me put it this way. On the way home I "punched" my car to get on the highway and thought that maybe 1) two of the four squirrels that power my car were on a coffee break, or 2) I maybe I had forgotten to release the parking brake. Alas, all four squirrels were, in fact, running as fast as the could, and no, the parking brake was not engaged!
So after driving Tom's GT3, the answer is YES, the Honda sucks even more now!
Thanks again, Tom, for letting me drive your truly AWESOME car!
Man - THAT is awesome !
my hats off to Tom for letting Tim drive. I am betting that even though it made the Honda suck more (or any other car, including mine) the thrill will boost Tim's feelings for a good long time!! Anyone willing to give such a great big smile to a friend is a true friend indeed!!
Well Done
Ed,
Did you notice that my "built in" wing is about the same height as Tom's GT3 wing? My car needs that because without the additional rear down force, the rear end gets loose when I really get on it!
