And he probably will use the car more or less often, so i preffer to recommend a 996 rather than a 993.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hello 996 guys ...
A good friend of mine is looking for a 911 Pcar.
911 has been his longlife dream and he is ready now for the jump ....
He is not mechanical oriented at all .... ...
And he probably will use the car more or less often, so i preffer to recommend a 996 rather than a 993.
I guess will be simpler and cheaper to fix than a 993, eventhough i really enjoy my older model. Also, miami is really hot and rainy. I guess 996 a/c should perfom well here ..
I am looking for a 2002 or newer, less than 35.000 miles .
Please honest and reliable comments only. This guy, my friend, is not a rich guy and have work a lot to buy the toy.
thks for your time, rgds

You might want to start with the Porsche web site Pre-owned search. Currently at the dealers, there are 20 2002 - 2004 996 C2 Coupes with 6 speed manual tranny. 11 of them are CPO cars. Mileage from 12,500 to 52,500. Prices from $29,900 to $47,900.
CPO would probably be his best bet if he is "is not mechanical oriented at all." That way he will be covered for two years, and if he has an issue, it won't break the bank.
I know your friend is looking for a 2003+, however I have a 1999 996 with Aerokit (GT3 look)
with 50K that I am the 2nd owner for the past 7 years. Its in very good to excellent condition.
Have decided to put it on the market cause wife is bothering me about having 3 P-cars.
Its not far from you in Fort Lauderdale. A few members here in South Florida know the 996.
If interested, let me know and I can send more info and pics.
You can check
www.6speedonline.com
They have a lot of pcars.
Also i just performed a search on this board and seems to have good information as well, for your friend.
Lastly , if all else fails you can always try

eloy..whatever route your friend goes, make sure he has a PPI performed. Also look at the local PCA chapter's in which the sites usually have a for sale section.
Rico, would you mind sending those pics. I am a serious buyer and just posted regarding two cars I am considering at the moment on ebay. Major maintenance records are a plus.
it's an '01 but priced more than right. Am only selling it due to recent purchase of a Turbo. Check it out:

I have a 2002 996 C4 Cab for sale. It is listed at the national PCA website in the Mart, in the Maverick Region PCA site classifieds, and in the in the RL Classifieds (looking to sell it to an educated Porsche buyer). I bought a GT3, and would like some garage space back, but am not in a hurry.
A handful of RL members on the racing/DE forum have seen it at DE's and can provide objective feedback on my description below. A very well respected PCA racer and local dealership mechanic that draws customers from all over the country will vouch for its mechanical condition for a qualified buyer.

Unfortunately, that is probably the current mileage.
That is like being married to Cindy Crawford or Katherine Zeta-Jones and "tapping" it only twice per year!
