Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

So I'm a little upset as I really like this car, but feel like I'm getting the run around from the dealer.

BTW if you plan on ENDING at $35K - dont start there......and I believe the "run a round" is part of the game......

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I've been scouring the Internet for what seems like months looking for the right car at the right price and finally find what I think is 'The Car.' The car advertised is a 2004 Cab with a lot of nice options (sport exhaust, full leather, 39k miles, etc...). The asking price is $35.9k and the car comes with the Porsche CPO warranty.
When I call to discuss the car the with the dealer I ask them about the warranty and am told that I can buy the car for $35k, but the warranty would be an extra $2k??? I tell them that I found their car advertised on two separate websites stating that the warranty was included (one of which is the Porsche website) but their response is they've had the car for over 90 days since they registered it with Porsche and had to forfeit the warranty???
So I'm a little upset as I really like this car, but feel like I'm getting the run around from the dealer. Would the dealership have to forfeit their CPO status if the car didn't sell within 90 days? Once of the reasons I called them on the car was because it came with the warranty...
I'm also curious what you think this car would sell for at a dealership auction. The carfax I received stated that they have taken the car to a dealer auction recently.
So what are your thoughts?
I bought a CPO (actually, a 2004 cab) last winter that had been on the lot for more than 90 days. They gave me the option of with CPO or without, for about a $2K difference. As they're willing to sell with or without CPO, my impression is that they don't send the paperwork in until they have a buyer.
no dealer is going to give you their "best price" over the phone. if you like the car, get serious and go buy it. THEN you will know how much it really cost

I saw that numerous times in my recent search for a 996. One dealer told me that the Porsche Approved logos on the various websites means that the car is "approved to be approved" should the buyer want to incurr the additional cost. Just because the market is softer than it has been in a long time doesn't mean that the boys at the dealer don't play the same old games.
Set a maximum price you are willing to pay with CPO. Offer them $33.5 (or what ever you are comfortable with as a starting point) INCLUDING CPO. Then work from there.
