And, if the work was professionally done and the PPI comes back clean, I might agree with the $45K.

Using hater as a standalone adjective is pointless.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Clear Title. Non-Smoker. No warranty express or implied.
I'm sure he meant to write, "No warranty express
ed
or implied." But, I think the double entendre of the "No Warranty Express" seems somehow appropriate.
I agree, those are ugly wheels. Looks like they belong on a Camaro or Mustang. The rest looks good. I really like that rear bumper. But for $45 for a 2000? No way.
That's a lot of work done for that car. I like the rear bumper too but could you imagine taking that to a Cars and Coffee somewhere and just listen to the whispers....
"OMG......but the interior and profile....996......salvage...whisper .....tip?......wheels...satan....whisper...whisper..."
no pictures of the motor ? what does it cost to much to delevope the film and put them on-line?
this is wishful thinking -
age of new owner, (if it sells ever) - 22 (IMO)
From the sound of this thread if it's not a GT3 it should be trashed? I think it looks nice and well done minus the tail lights and rims and think someone wanting to modify there non gt3 car would have about an extra 20 grand just in body panel work/paint etc to get to this result.
45K?, no, but I have to say that the body work looks very nice. The seams on both the front and rear look factory. I'll bet he has at least 25K in paint and panels........
I'd say the base car was worth about 20K and he's just trying to capture the 25K he poured into the conversion.
Wow! tough crowd here. I agree it is really overpriced, you never get the cost of these type of mods out of a car, or any mods really. But it sure looks like they did a nice job on the mods, the crusher remarks seem a little harsh. I have seen alot of body mods around here that look alot worse than this.
+1
its not my taste but it looks like it was modded with care and a good budget, if you put some nicer looking rims on it might look a lot better
i would take it over this any day

I also think the car looks pretty good, don't like the wheels though. Personally, I wouldn't pay that much for it. But, someone else might, you never know.
Like I said in the other thread, bunch of haters here.
Haters of bad taste.
When you're against bad, doesn't that make you good? Using hater as a standalone adjective is pointless.
Hate baby abattoirs? Hate cockroaches for breakfast? Hate farm animal concubines? So you're NOT a hater?
NO...that's not what I said. You can like it or not like it, and say so openly, but with some respect. Don't have to trash someone just coz' they did some mod to their car that doesn't suit your personal taste.
I can understand that some mods can look really bad and deserve some thrashing, but come on, this particular one can't be that bad even if you don't like it.
Btw, I do not know any of those owners, and have no affiliation with them. Not that I'm standing up for anyone in particular.
yeah, what he said ^
mods are done for the owner, write off the cash you spent to good times.
its a clean car, but comming up on 10 years old. he should have a thread here so we can watch. ide love to know what he gets for it.
So people expressing their opinion are haters? usually expressed through humor or exaggeration around here.
What you have here are allot of "Porsche purists" around here who aren't really into the "pimp my ride" mods and making are car something that it is not. If we are haters so be it.
I dont "hate" the car or the owner but it's not even close to my taste.
I bet if the owner of that car joined the forum and asked for tech help there is probably not one of us who would not be happy to help.
That's certainly part of it. But would someone who takes a car to a north jersey chop shop, says, "here's my tacky vision and my credit card (or my seven years of quik-e-mart paychecks)" ever come looking for tech help?
Rennlist certainly has its share of credit card enthusiasts, and I concede there is a double standard: If a guy wants to pay Ruf five zillion dollars plus a 300% markup to get a Ruf branded conversion, we heap praise on him.
From my personal perspective, I give a lot more credit for grassroots authenticity. Got your English Wheel and welder and building a Frankenstein custom in your garage--more power to you. Make it work and do it yourself and your commitment makes up for just about anything else. (of course, then you'd be posting on Pelican)
But take your car to "Pimp My Ride"? Please.
I came late so I just hit the highlights.....
I HATE:
English Wheel and welder building Frankenstein customs
high priced
ugly wheels
bad taste
epic fail
cup o' tea
<shrug> envy
hater aid drinkin
baby cockroaches
man I think I need to take my A.D.D. meds
was there a wing for sale somewhere
Marc, No, that is not what I mean. Refer to my other post to your similar comment:
HERE
This is exactly what I'm talking about. Do you know him? How do you classify him with "quik-e-mart paychecks"? How do you know he doesn't make bigger pay checks than yourself? How do you know he's not better than you in many ways? Why are you putting him down just becoz' you don't like his taste in modding cars?
That is all I'm gonna say. I'm not gonna go on debating or arguing about this, it's a waste of our time. Just do whatever you all think is right. Again...CHEERS!
I would think Rennlist is more than a "showboater forum" like the car pointed out in this thread. In my opinion, "Rennies" don't mod beyond simple carbon fiber, gauge rings, blah blah. I like this forum becuase it's about performance, not max HP or LED's or pointless ducting.
I think Rennlist is similar to the Porsche goal, "simplicity, efficiency, and engineering"
Kinda like F1 vs. Drifting.
And in all honesty, I wish I bought a 993 so that I wouldn't have to deal with some of this "hater-ade" $hit. Why can't they leave something that's good alone?
The most amazing thing about this post is the user's blatant audacity. All responses to date are on point and certainly expected from the Rennlist regulars!
I dig it. Price is an issue for me. So is mileage. But, personally, I think it looks quite nice. For the folks that want to play "look at me," $45K might be just the price of admission to the game.
And, if the work was professionally done and the PPI comes back clean, I might agree with the $45K.

I usually try not to engage in threads like this but..... whats the difference? We all know the green car and not the white, yet mostly everyone loved the green one.... this is the perfect example why a nice set of wheels will seperate the purist and the posers.... Like what the man said. Hate the game and not the playa!
